PNP SEIZES P3.1-M CONTRABAND VAPES, UNAUTHORIZED LPG CYLINDERS; 1 ARRESTED IN CAVITE OPS

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., confiscated PHP3,197,000.00 worth of alleged smuggled v**e products and unauthorized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders and arrested one individual in two separate law enforcement operations conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cavite Provincial Field Unit in Cavite on June 6, 2026.

In Brgy. Pasong Camachile 1, General Trias City, Cavite, CIDG Cavite operatives together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) implemented a Search Warrant for violation of Republic Act No. 11900 or the Vaporized Ni****ne and Non-Ni****ne Products Regulation Act. The operation resulted in the confiscation of assorted v**e products consisting of boxed v***r devices and disposable variants. These items were found to have no DTI permit, no required packaging and health warnings, and failed to comply with product standard requirements, with a total value of PHP1,997,000.00.

In Brgy. Paliparan I, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, CIDG Cavite operatives together with representatives of a Filipino-owned liquefied petroleum gas company and a party-list group advocating for the LPG industry conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a male individual of legal age who was allegedly caught transporting and trading empty LPG cylinders without authority from the brand owners. Confiscated were ninety empty LPG cylinders bearing registered trademarks of legitimate manufacturers, with an estimated value of PHP200,000.00.

The operations are anchored on Republic Act No. 11900, which regulates v***rized ni****ne and non-ni****ne products to protect public health through proper product standards, and Republic Act No. 623 as amended by Republic Act No. 5700, which prohibits the unauthorized use, possession, and sale of marked containers, including compressed gas cylinders, without written consent of the owners.

“The PNP will continue to intensify operations against contraband goods that pose risks to public safety and violate regulatory standards,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Hindi po namin kukunsintihin ang mga ilegal na gawain. Patuloy ang PNP sa pagtupad ng aming tungkulin para sa kapakanan ng publiko,” he added.

The PNP Focused Agenda, a transformation framework designed to strengthen police service delivery, supports these operations, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing enforcement against illicit trade and regulatory violations affecting public safety and consumer welfare.

As the PNP intensifies its campaign against contraband trade under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

PRO 9 JOINS NATION IN CELEBRATING 128TH PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO PEACE, FREEDOM, AND PUBLIC SERVICE

In solidarity with the Filipino nation in commemorating the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, the men and women of Police Regional Office (PRO) 9, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Dennis A Esguerra, Officer-in-Charge, joined the nationwide observance in honoring the sacrifices of the nation's heroes and reflecting on the enduring significance of freedom, patriotism, and public service.

The Chief of the Philippine National Police, Police General Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr, in his Independence Day message, highlighted the significance of this year's theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” emphasizing that freedom is not merely a chapter in the nation's history but a continuing responsibility that every Filipino must uphold and protect. He reminded the police organization that while the country's forefathers fought for independence through courage and sacrifice, today's generation is called upon to safeguard that freedom by preserving peace, upholding justice, strengthening institutions, and ensuring that every Filipino can live, work, and pursue their aspirations without fear.

PGen Nartatez Jr. further emphasized that every crime prevented, every community protected, and every life kept safe represents a meaningful contribution to the ideals of freedom and democracy that the nation's heroes fought to secure. Through honest service, professional conduct, and genuine concern for the welfare of the people, police officers help safeguard the liberties that define the nation.

Echoing the message of the Chief, PNP, PBGen Esguerra underscored the enduring responsibility of every police officer to protect the gains of freedom through faithful service and unwavering dedication to duty.
“Kaisa ng sambayanang Pilipino, ang Police Regional Office 9 ay nananatiling tapat sa kanyang tungkulin na pangalagaan ang kapayapaan, kaayusan, at seguridad ng ating mga komunidad. Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos at pagmamahal sa bayan, patuloy nating palalakasin ang pundasyon ng isang malaya, mapayapa, at matatag na Pilipinas,” PBGen Esguerra said.

As the nation celebrates this historic milestone, PRO 9 reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to its constitutional mandate of serving and protecting the people. Guided by the Chief, PNP Focused Agenda of the and anchored on the principles of integrity, excellence, and people-centered policing, the regional police force continues to strengthen peace and order initiatives, enhance public safety efforts, and foster stronger partnerships with communities throughout the region.
The observance of the 128th Philippine Independence Day not only honored the country's rich history and the sacrifices of its heroes but also renewed the commitment of the men and women of PRO 9 to uphold the values of patriotism, service, and nation-building. As the nation looks toward the future, PRO 9 stands united with the Filipino people in safeguarding the freedoms won by past generations and in helping build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Philippines for all.
