AIR-CONDITIONED BUS SHUTTLE TO BICOL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LAUNCHES MAY 7

NAGA CITY (Bicol News) - Commuters traveling to and from the Bicol International Airport will soon have a more convenient transport option, as air-conditioned shuttle buses are set to begin operations on May 7.

The new service will connect the Integrated Bus Terminal in Naga City to the Bicol International Airport, with a designated stopover in Nabua, offering passengers a direct and comfortable transit alternative.

Fare rates approved by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) are set at P600 for trips between Naga City and the airport, and P550 for routes between Nabua and the airport, both on a one-way basis.

Passengers may purchase tickets online through EasyBus, with the booking link expected to be released soon.

GOV. BOBOY HAMOR, PINARANGALAN BILANG OUTSTANDING GOVERNOR SA SOCIAL SERVICES

Tinanggap ni Sorsogon Governor Boboy Hamor ang pagkilala bilang isa sa mga “Outstanding Governors of the Philippines” sa larangan ng social services, ayon sa ulat na inilabas nitong Martes, Abril 28, 2026.

Iginawad ang parangal sa ginanap na 29th National Convention and General Assembly ng Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines sa Zamboanga City, kung saan kinilala ang kanyang pamumuno at aktibong pagtutok sa mga programang panlipunan sa lalawigan.

Ayon sa ulat, naging batayan ng pagkilala ang epektibong pagpapatupad ng 7K Program ng pamahalaang panlalawigan, na may ilang pangunahing haligi na nakatuon sa social services, partikular sa pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng mga mahihirap at bulnerableng sektor.

Tatlo lamang na gobernador sa buong bansa ang napili para sa nasabing parangal, na itinuturing na indikasyon ng natatanging liderato at malasakit ni Hamor sa kapakanan ng mga Sorsoganon.

Binigyang-diin ng pamahalaang panlalawigan na ang pagkilalang ito ay hindi lamang para sa gobernador kundi para sa buong lalawigan ng Sorsogon, bilang resulta ng patuloy na pagpapaigting ng mga serbisyong panlipunan sa ilalim ng 7K at 7K Plus programs.

VICE GANDA TO PERFORM AT NAGA TOURISM BRAND LAUNCH, SAYS MAYOR LENI ROBREDO

NAGA CITY (Bicol News) - Mayor Leni Robredo announced that comedian and television host Vice Ganda will perform at the launch of the city’s new tourism brand on May 1, 2026, at the Metro Naga Sports Complex in Barangay Pacol.

The event will also mark the opening day of the Isarog International Hot Air Balloon Festival, expected to draw visitors for a night of entertainment and celebration.

MAN ELECTROCUTED WHILE INSTALLING WIFI IN MATNOG

MATNOG, Sorsogon (Bicol News) - A man died after being electrocuted while installing an internet connection at a residence in Barangay Genablan, Matnog on April 27, 2026.

Initial police investigation indicated that the victim accidentally came into contact with a live wire during the installation of a WiFi connection.

The incident occurred in the afternoon. The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.

LEBANON BEACH SA BACON, PANSAMANTALANG ISINARA SA MGA MALILIGO DAHIL SA PELIGRO NG MALALAKAS NA ALON

SORSOGON CITY (Bicol News) - Pansamantalang ipinagbawal ang pagligo at paglangoy sa Lebanon Beach na matatagpuan sa Barangay San Juan, Bacon District, sa koordinasyon ng Sorsogon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) at mga opisyal ng barangay.

Ayon sa DRRMO, ipinatupad ang hakbang habang hinihintay pa ang pinal na aksyon ng pamahalaang barangay kaugnay sa kanilang rekomendasyon na magpatupad ng “No Swimming Policy” sa nasabing lugar.

Batay sa ulat, sunod-sunod na insidente ng pagkalunod ang naitala sa Lebanon Beach, na iniuugnay sa malalakas na alon at mapanganib na agos ng dagat sa lugar.

Dahil dito, mahigpit na pinapaalalahanan ang publiko na sumunod sa ipinatutupad na pansamantalang pagbabawal upang maiwasan ang karagdagang sakuna.
