"When I was 7 years old, my mother wanted me to become an altar server, but being a shy person and afraid of facing a crowd had it difficult for me to do so. I was a child that grew up quiet and reserved. Once the pandemic hit, at 12, I had even less communication with others and spent too much time in front of screens. This made me more isolated and introverted. As time passed, I realized that so many opportunities had passed me by because of my fear and shyness. I wanted to change and grow, so when I reached the age of 14, I wanted to be part of the ministry. I was truly blessed to have with me a companion minister encouraging me to join as an altar server. In serving at the altar, it helped me grow closer to God and slowly learn how to overcome my fears.Being a sacristan helped me to gain wisdom, confidence, and faith. I learned the importance of dedecating myself to God and praying for others, especially for those whose faith is weak. My journey as an altar server continues to guide me on how to be a better follower of Christ"

The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, holds significant importance in the Catholic Church. It marks both the octave of Christmas and the beginning of the civil year. It's a time for believers to reflect on Mary's role in the birth of Jesus and to honor her as the Mother of God. Though it can be overshadowed by New Year festivities, it remains a profound occasion for those in the Christian faith.

JUST IN: Redemptorist Tacloban installed new members of Lectors and Eucharistic Lay Ministers renewed old members and blessed the newly built Ministers' Lounge

Today’s gospel on the 2nd Sunday of Advent, taken from the book of Matthew 17:1–9, invited us to reflect upon the role of John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Jesus and the salvation that he would bring to us.

The mass was presided over by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Gerardo Matriano, C.S.s.R., who also presided over the installation of new members of the word ministers and eucharistic lay ministers, as well as our team of volunteers in legal advising, We have six new lectors, nine lay ministers, and four legal advisers who will offer their time for free in advising our parishioners who cannot pay an attorney’s fee.

After the mass, the blessing of the newly built minister's lounge was done by the parish priest and the Provincial Youth Director, Rev. Fr. Vincent Chloe Que, C.S.s.R., at the back of the church. It started with a ribbon cutting and was followed by a blessing prayer inside the lounge, witnessed by the newly renewed ministers in the parish. The lounge will be open during Wednesdays and Sundays and other Holy Day of Obligation masses while waiting for the mass to start.

May the Blessed Mother and her Son always pour out blessings to the people who helped to make this project possible.

Last Sunday, April 23, 2023, the Redemptorist Media Ministry participated in an online training session organized by the Online Missionaries of God (OMG) called the "Ultimate Social Media Strategy." The training was focused on effective social media management and was hosted by .

Remember, social media is a tool, and how we use it is up to us. Let's all be responsible in our social media use, promote positive interactions, and work towards making the online world a better place.

The Redemptorist Media Ministry (RMM) managed a photobooth last February 12, 2023 as an early celebration for Valentine's Day. Thank you for everyone who took the chance of getting their picture taken with their loved ones. As a token of love and gratitude, we hope these captured moments become meaningful memories for all of you.

As Fr. Chloe Que C.Ss.R. once said, "Love isn't a what. It's a who." It is indeed, and we hope these pictures become a testament as all of you have already found yours.
