Today, key tourism and development stakeholders gathered for the site visit and assessment of the Tagbilaran City Central Public Market, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VII, as part of the initiative to position the market as a potential day-to-night cultural hotspot that showcases the city's rich heritage, local products, culinary offerings, and vibrant community life.

The activity was attended by DOT Region VII, Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BTO), Chief of Staff, City Legal Office, SP secretary, City Tourism Technical Working Group (TWG), Tagbilaran City Tourism Office, City Economic Enterprise Office, Tugas Tour Guides, iTag Tourism Alliance, Tagbilaran City Tourism stakeholders, and the Bohol Association of Travel & Tour Operators.

This collaborative effort reflects our shared commitment to strengthening tourism development, enhancing tourist experiences, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for the local community.

✅June 8, 2026, the Organizational Meeting and Introduction of the Digital Survey for the remaining sectors, particularly the souvenir and retail shop owners, was successfully conducted at JJs Seafood Village.

The activity was joined by our Technical Working Group (TWG) members, City Consultant Mayet Gasatan, and Tourism Officer Alexis Joseph Cadeliña, focusing on strengthening data collection and enhancing sectoral engagement for improved tourism planning and development.

Heartfelt Thanks to Our Dedicated City Officials and Personnel headed by our active City Mayor Jane Yap!

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba, CGSO Head, for the immediate approval of our request for much-needed supplies.

We also thank the City Engineering and Plumbing Team, led by Engr. Theodoro Estoque , for their prompt inspection and assistance at Tagbilaran City Friendship Park in addressing the water supply concern.

Special thanks to Ma’am Cathy Torremocha, CA Sir Alvin Luis Acuzar for their continued support.

And a big salute to the Friendship Park Team Orchel Dumanig, Kuya Jess, and Tagbilaran City Friendship Park Supervisor Niña Jasmine Aguilon Cadeliña for their dedication in maintaining the park’s cleanliness and order.

Successfully Concluded: June 2-3, 2026
The two-day Workshop and Review of Tagbilaran’s Heritage Conservation Ordinance C-256 has been successfully completed, marking another significant step toward strengthening the preservation and protection of Tagbilaran City's cultural and historical heritage.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our consultant and facilitator, Dr. Rosalinda Paredes, for sharing her expertise and guiding the discussions throughout the workshop. Our gratitude also goes to Councilor Christian Merick Blanco, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heraldry, the 16th Sangguniang Panlungsod, stakeholders, partners, and members of the academe for their active participation, valuable insights, and unwavering commitment to heritage conservation.

Productive discussions and preparations continue as Mayor Jane Yap, together with the City Tourism Office led by Tourism Officer, the Technical Working Group (TWG), and consultants, convened to finalize the Tagbilaran Heritage Conservation Ordinance No. C-256 in preparation for the June 2–3 sessions.

This important initiative reflects the City's commitment to preserving and protecting Tagbilaran's rich cultural and historical heritage for future generations while ensuring sustainable development.

The team also prepared for the upcoming visit of the Department of Tourism Region VII (DOT-7), whose assistance and guidance will further strengthen tourism market development initiatives in Tagbilaran City, paving the way for enhanced tourism opportunities and economic growth.
