"IS THAT EVEN A REAL JOB?!" 🙄
Let’s clear up this common misconception about social media managers. Honestly, I hate hearing statements like these:
“Is that even a real job?”
“Creating content is so easy, I don’t need help.”
“They just make captions and graphics; that’s it!”
“They don’t actually help grow my business; they’re useless.”
Oh really? If that’s true, then answer these questions:
Do CEOs of major brands personally create daily content for their businesses?
Can you produce 25–30 pieces of engaging content in a few hours without facing creative blocks?
Are you able to keep up with constantly evolving trends through in-depth research?
How easy is it to edit and revise graphics to perfection?
Can you juggle business operations, order management, and content creation all at once?
Are you brainstorming fresh, engaging ideas regularly to avoid stale content?
Are you consistently engaging with your audience every single day?
Do you write compelling ad copy that avoids redundancy and attracts buyers?
Can you develop a content strategy with pillars that are relevant, timely, and effective?
And finally, can you manage editing videos, reels, and stories while planning months’ worth of future content, staying on top of trends, and engaging with followers to grow your audience?
Is it really as “easy” as you think?
If your answer is “no,” then maybe it’s time to appreciate the huge role a social media manager plays in growing your brand. Social media managers don’t just make pretty posts; we create strategies that boost visibility, drive engagement, and ultimately attract buyers. After all, if people don’t know your brand exists, how will they buy from you?
