Twenty-five years ago, at the age of 17, Ate Chris had chosen pottery making as her path, dedicating her life to becoming a local artisan in the Putsan community. After high school, life had presented her with limited options, but she had found her calling in pottery. Despite the ups and downs of the craft, Ate Chris had persevered, driven by her passion for creating something with her own hands. She recalled the early days, struggling to make ends meet, but her determination had only grown stronger. "Our income from pottery making wasn't always steady, but it was enough to provide for our basic needs," she said. The challenges were real, but Ate Chris' persistence and dedication to her craft had kept her going, inspiring her to continue creating.

Mang Salvador's journey in pottery making began in the 2000s when he joined training programs and workshops exploring ceramics, headed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region V. He looks back on those years with gratitude, saying they laid the foundation for his craft. Over the past 25 years, he has mastered various techniques, shaping clay into beautiful ceramics made for gardening and landscaping. His passion for pottery has also led him to share his expertise with others, teaching eager students at Putsan, where he's one of the pioneering artisans. His dedication to his craft is inspiring, and he wants the tradition of pottery making to live on through new generations.

Shemron's fascination with pottery began in his childhood, playing with mud and clay in his hometown at Putsan, Tiwi, Albay. His interest deepened as he grew older, influenced by his father who had started his craft in the same place. "My father started here as a potter when I was young and this became like a childhood playground to me." What was once a playful pastime soon became his passion, and he dedicated himself to mastering the craft. With his experience, he has come to see that opportunities in pottery are a direct result of hard work and perseverance, rewards for the dedication he has invested in his craft.
