CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) and RGB (Red, Green, Blue) are two different color models used for different purposes:
*CMYK:*
1. Used for printing (ink, offset printing, etc.)
2. Subtractive color model (combines inks to absorb light)
3. Wider color gamut for printing
*RGB:*
1. Used for digital displays (monitors, TVs, mobile devices)
2. Additive color model (combines light to produce colors)
3. Better suited for screen-based media
When designing, it's essential to use the correct color model for your intended output:
- CMYK for print materials (brochures, business cards, posters)
- RGB for digital media (websites, social media, videos)
