In this post, I'll be revealing 7 key components that are essential to creating a Shopify Landing Page that converts visitors into leads like crazy.
Let's start from the basics.

A landing page is a page on which your customer lands after clicking on a link in an email, or ad from Google, Facebook, etc.

The goal of a landing page is to get either leads, clicks, or sales. But there should be only one goal.
Your product determines the goal of your landing page. For example, if you are selling a high ticket item that requires more time from a customer to make a decision, your landing page goal can be email signups.
Similarly, if you are selling a low-value item and able to convert a visitor into a customer quickly, the Shopify landing pages should be built on Product Pages, or Collection pages, your landing page goal can be either Add To Cart event or Buy Now event.

The magic element of any product is the USP. This is the statement that defines why you are better than your competitors and the one benefit that makes your product stand out.
A USP should quickly answer the question โWhy would someone choose you over your competitorโ

Make sure the Headline is big, bold, and easy to read. Just like the cover of a book.
It should be precise enough to tell customers what the landing page is about and interesting enough to grab peopleโs attention.

c. Mention benefits (not features)

Research shows that images increase retention of the content to 65%. This is the only and enough reason for you to give your product images the utmost attention. Good product photos also set the tone of the entire brand as professional, innovative, and focused on details.

b. Use more than one image
c. Be mindful about image size

Use a countdown timer or come up with your own unique ideas to create a sense of urgency. Show your stock levels to create scarcity. This makes people think that they need to act now or fear of missing out. Itโs now or never.

Call to Action is the action you want your customer to perform for e.g [Buy now], [Subscribe now], or [Download your copy now]. This is nearly always missing from landing pages that I review for my clients.
Put a call to action under each section of your content on your page. Make it simple for them with a clear Call to Action. Donโt make them look around to download your free guide.

The basic human instinct is to follow the action of others. Social Proof builds trust and credibility and lowers the barrier of making purchases. It could be a tweet, review, or any comment to give the page credibility.

Mobile web traffic always outperforms traditional desktop traffic, yet mobile conversions still lag behind desktop conversions. This is primarily due to Developers and designers not creating and optimizing their landing page for mobile.
Only 50% to 60% of all landing pages or any web pages that I review for my clients and see online are optimized for phones and tablets. By not keeping in mind your mobile customers, you are losing a big chunk of money.

Splash pages are used to make an announcement or verify their age or location. For Shopify, It is usually used as a Coming Soon page.
I recommend you to use splash pages at the top of your MARKETING FUNNEL to plant a strong impression on users and set your brand tone.
Note: Marketing funnel is your userโs journey from the initial stages when someone learns about your brand to making a purchase.

Lead Generation is the process of getting a customerโs contact information in exchange for something valuable in return also called a lead magnet. It can be free shipping, a free sample, 50% off, or anything valuable.
Your lead magnet should make them think: โIf theyโre giving this away for free I canโt imagine how much value Iโd get if I actually became a customer!โ
Lead Generation Landing Pages are usually in the middle of the marketing funnel.

Just like any other sales page with a conversion goal, a sales landing page is built to convert ad traffic directly into customers hence these landing pages are harder to design and structure.
A sales page can be long or short depending on your product. But don't keep your sales page forcefully short just because people donโt read much. A customer interested in buying your product will read volumes about it, If itโs interesting and addresses his/her pain points
a. Use persuasive copyโConvey benefits, not features and Address Pain, not Problem
b. Show the product in action
c. Social Proof

Thank you pages are where someone is redirected to after your customer finally made a purchase. Thank you pages are often overlooked, designed with only a boring โThank Youโ line.
Thank you page has the power to either move a lead further down the funnel and increase the average order value. Hereโs how:
a. Use the customerโs name to seem a little bit personal.
b. Discount โ something like 20% off your next offer
c. โShare to Socialโ Buttons

Always do A/B testing for web pages and choose your winner that outperforms the rest.
Before you conduct an A/B test, youโll need to make sure if your website gets enough traffic to generate statistically significant results. If your sample size is too small, you wonโt be able to learn anything from your results since they wonโt accurately reflect how a larger population is using your site.
