The International Symposium “From Legacy to Innovation: Preserving Agricultural Heritage for the Future”, organized by the Society of Extension Educationists under the Institute of Agricultural Extension, Education & Rural Development, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, marked a remarkable beginning with the participation of international scholars, diplomats, researchers, policy experts, and youth leaders.

Day 1 of the International Symposium “From Legacy to Innovation: Preserving Agricultural Heritage for the Future”, organized by the Society of Extension Educationists under the Institute of Agricultural Extension, Education & Rural Development (IAEERD), University of Agriculture Faisalabad, marked a remarkable start filled with academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and intellectual engagement.

The symposium brought together renowned international scholars, diplomats, researchers, cultural experts, and policy leaders to highlight the importance of preserving agricultural heritage while embracing innovation for future generations.

We were honored to host distinguished guests and speakers including Dr. Paul Whitney (Vice President International Programs, Washington State University, USA), Dr. Asif J. Chaudhry (Former US Ambassador to Moldova & Former VP International Programs, Washington State University, USA), Prof. Dr. Kulvinder Gill (Washington State University, USA), Dr. M. Ejaz Qureshi (Australian National University, Australia), Dr. S.M. 2 Days’ Highlights | Hybrid Training Workshop on Geospatial Tools for Social Sciences: Applications of GIS and Remote Sensing, 29-30 April, Organised by Institute of Agric., Extension, Education and Rural Development, University of Agriculture Faisalabad.

The workshop began with inspiring opening remarks by Dr. Bryan Boruff (University of Western Australia), followed by an engaging technical session by Mr. Waqas Ahmad (GIS Expert).

Participants explored key GIS concepts, remote sensing techniques, and their real-world applications in research and agriculture. The sessions were interactive, with strong student engagement in spatial data and mapping tools.
