He has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first MPhil graduate from our department, setting an inspiring example for all of us in this academic journey. Research topic focuses on the *Role of the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) in Sustainable Agriculture Development in Sub-Division Roundu, Skardu**. This study explores how AKRSP, a leading non-profit organization working in Gilgit-Baltistan, promotes sustainable farming practices, improves socio-economic conditions of local farmers, enhances agricultural yields through community-based models, and addresses challenges in implementation. By examining these aspects, the research highlights the program's contributions to long-term food security, environmental resilience, and rural development in the region.

*The Diversity of Pakistan: A Strength or a Weakness?*

Pakistan is a country with a diverse population, comprising various cultures, languages, and religions. This diversity is not unique to Pakistan, as many developed countries around the world also boast diverse populations and consider it a strength. However, Pakistan's history has been marred by incidents that have been attributed to religious or sectarian tensions.

As an anthropologist, I believe that these incidents are not a result of religious or sectarian differences, but rather a misunderstanding of one's own faith. The individuals involved in these incidents, regardless of their sect or religion, are misguided and misinterpret their faith.

Islam, the predominant religion in Pakistan, does not condone violence or killing of innocent people. The fact that such incidents occur in a country with a 96% Muslim population, where Islamic rules and regulations are followed, is a reflection of our current state.

While the world is moving forward with technology and progress, we are still stuck in the past, allowing such incidents to occur. To bring about change, we must first change our mindset and work together towards the betterment of society.

It's time for Pakistan to recognize its diversity as a strength, rather than a weakness. We must promote tolerance, understanding, and coexistence, and put an end to the misinterpretation of faith that leads to violence and bloodshed.

Let's work together to build a better Pakistan, where everyone can live in peace and harmony, regardless of their background or beliefs

I am announcing with great excitement that I'm a part of the 26 top candidates for the "Social Enterprise Development Leadership Program" being conducted in AIT. This first-of-its-kind immersive learning experience is being conducted through the joint efforts of Rizq, UNODC and YCA (please tag these three)

The program has been designed specially for faculty from 22 Pakistani public sector universities, to help institutionalise social enterprise education in Pakistan's higher education landscape.

After a 3-month long national program, the shortlisted individuals alongside me were taken to Thailand for the 11-day module combining international expert-led discussions, field visits and applied learning sessions.

The experience has been truly enriching for me, and I cannot wait to implement the learnings in my classrooms once I return!

Today, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology (BS 5th Sociology & BS 7th Anthropology ) organized a vibrant Cultural Event where students from different districts proudly showcased their unique traditions, attire, music, and food. The event highlighted the beauty of Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage and promoted unity through diversity.

✨ One of the most exciting parts of the event was the Turkish Cultural Presentation, where students beautifully represented Turkey’s rich culture — displaying traditional Turkish costumes, music, and hospitality. The presentation gave everyone a glimpse into the deep connection between Turkish and Pakistani traditions.

🕊️ Such events help us understand and appreciate different cultures, fostering friendship, respect, and harmony among students.
