Introduction:
Foundation and Initial days:
St. Joseph’s English High School was founded on the 1 April 1954, by Fr. then Parish Priest of Gujranwala, in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore. Mary' School, it was started for the Christian students at Khokharki. John Rehmat was the first teacher, with primary classes of about fifteen students. In 1958 the school was shifted to premises clo
se to Khokharki and the name was changed from St. Joseph’s School by Fr. Clarence OFM (Cap.). Later St. Joseph’s Urdu Medium Primary School was added. Brother David has been the principal of school for many years and contributed a lot in improving the school upto high international standards. Among the students of that time were Mateen Seharai etc. In 1972 all private schools in Pakistan were nationalized by the government. One of the many projects of Catholic Mission in Pakistan was established in 1958 and the beautiful building was constructed in 1958- 1960 and initially primary classes were established and was upgraded to Matric level within next 10 years AS in 1968 new building opposite to old one was established now leaving the old building as hostel for distant students with swimming pool, Church and Mess facility. Faculty of Science and Arts:
Initially teachers were not available so Founder of school Brother him self volunteeredto teach higher classes and with the time lapse in 70's , 80's and 90's various teachers teached in this place and groomed the students for the next step ahead. Current Status
School was closed due to funds problems in year 2012 and currently non fuctional leaving a huge history behind abd we hope this institute may shine agian and reach to the skies where it once was.Amen
