Hyderabad faces alarming surge in dengue cases — 5 more deaths reported in 24 hours
Dengue virus continues to spread rapidly in Hyderabad, claiming 5 more lives within the last 24 hours. According to unofficial statistics, the total death toll in the city has now reached 32.
Among those who lost their lives are 41-year-old Muhammad Faheem and 55-year-old Shameem Sheikh from Latifabad Unit-11, 60-year-old Shafi Muhammad from Unit-4, another patient named Shafi Muhammad from Unit-6, and one female patient.
As per the health department report, 1,534 tests were conducted in a single day, out of which 713 returned positive — indicating that nearly every second suspected patient tested positive for dengue.
Currently, 212 patients are admitted across hospitals in the city — 80 in government hospitals and 132 in private facilities.
In response to the outbreak, HMC teams are carrying out extensive fumigation and anti-mosquito spray operations in various areas of Hyderabad.

حیدرآباد میں ڈینگی وائرس تیزی سے پھیل رہا ہے اور گزشتہ 24 گھنٹوں کے دوران مزید 5 افراد جاں بحق ہوگئے۔ غیر سرکاری اعداد و شمار کے مطابق شہر میں مجموعی اموات کی تعداد 32 ہوگئی ہے۔
جاں بحق ہونے والوں میں لطیف آباد یونٹ نمبر 11 کے 41 سالہ محمد فہیم اور 55 سالہ شمیم شیخ، یونٹ نمبر 4 کے 60 سالہ شفیع محمد، یونٹ نمبر 6 کے شفیع محمد اور ایک خاتون شامل ہیں۔
محکمہ صحت کی رپورٹ کے مطابق ایک دن میں 1,534 ٹیسٹ کیے گئے جن میں سے 713 مثبت آئے، یعنی ہر دو مشتبہ مریضوں میں سے ایک میں ڈینگی کی تصدیق ہوئی۔
اس وقت شہر کے مختلف اسپتالوں میں 212 مریض زیر علاج ہیں جن میں 80 سرکاری اور 132 نجی اسپتالوں میں داخل ہیں۔
ڈینگی کی بگڑتی صورتحال کے پیش نظر ایچ ایم سی کی ٹیمیں شہر بھر میں بڑے پیمانے پر مچھر مار اسپرے مہم جاری رکھے ہوئے ہیں۔
