never planned to end up in marketing.

For 5 years I stood in front of classrooms teaching English. Lesson plans, grammar drills, trying to get teenagers to care about grammar at 8am.

I thought I was just teaching a language.

Turns out I was learning something far more valuable.

Here's what 5 years in a classroom taught me about writing copy that actually works:

People tune out the moment they feel talked at.

The second you start lecturing instead of connecting, you lose the room. Ads work the same way. The moment your copy sounds like a brochure, people scroll. Nobody wants to be sold to. They want to feel understood.

Clarity always beats cleverness.

I used to think good teaching meant sophisticated language. My students proved me wrong every single time. The explanation that landed was always the simplest one. Your best performing ad will never be your most clever one. It will be your clearest one.

If you don't have their attention, nothing else matters.

Before any lesson could work, I had to earn attention first. A question, a story, something unexpected. Your ad hook works exactly the same way. You have 3 seconds. If you lose them there, your offer and your landing page and your follow up sequence mean nothing. You never got them in the first place.

People remember how you made them feel, not what you said.

I had students who forgot the lesson but remembered exactly how the class felt. Copy works the same way. Write to make someone feel seen or understood and they will remember you long after they forget your words.

The best communicators obsess over the other person, not themselves.

The teachers who struggled focused on delivering the material. The ones who thrived were obsessed with whether the student actually got it. Most businesses write ads about themselves. The best copy is entirely about the person reading it.
5 years in a classroom. I thought I was building a career in education.

Turned out I was building the foundation for everything I do now.

The skills are identical. The room just looks different.

Most service businesses running Meta Ads are doing everything right. Good offer, good service, willing to spend.
But the leads aren't coming. Or the ones that do come never convert.
99% of the time it's not the ad. It's what happens after the click.

Some of them are doing everything else right — good offer, good service, willing to spend. But these silent killers are eating the results before they even start.

If it's 3 or more, DM me "AUDIT" and I'll tell you exactly what's costing you leads.

AI made marketers faster. It also made a lot of them sound exactly the same.

I use AI in my work. It helps me draft faster, test more variations, and research quicker. Those are real advantages and I am not going to pretend otherwise.

But I have noticed something.

The moment you hand the thinking to AI, the output loses something. It becomes technically correct but emotionally flat. Clean sentences with nothing behind them. And audiences feel that instantly even if they cannot explain why.

There is a line I keep coming back to. AI raises the floor but lowers the ceiling for copy.

That is exactly right. AI removes the blank page problem but it also removes the edge, the specific human detail, the unexpected angle that makes someone stop scrolling.

The marketers who will win are not the ones who use AI the most. They are the ones who use it for speed and still bring their own thinking to what it produces.

Use it to generate ten hooks. Then rewrite the one that almost works into something only you could have written.

Use it to research a prospect. Then write the outreach message yourself.

Use it to draft. Never use it to think.

AI is the fastest assistant you have ever had. Just make sure you are still the one doing the actual work.

After a long break, I'm back.

I've cleared the slate and am starting fresh. This page will now be a place where I share my journey in digital marketing, the things I'm learning, the challenges I face, and the progress I make along the way.

Thanks for being here. I'm excited to see where this journey leads.
