It was an honor to participate in an expert group meeting convened by the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), in collaboration with UNFPA, bringing together leading voices from media, academia, and policy to reflect on a gender-sensitive Code of Ethics for today’s evolving media landscape. From my lens as a digital media analyst, the discussion reinforced how algorithmic systems, AI-driven content ecosystems, and influencer economies are increasingly shaping perceptions, decisions, and social behaviors at scale.

As technology accelerates, the need for ethical, inclusive, and responsible communication frameworks becomes even more critical to ensure equity in digital narratives and public discourse. Looking forward to further collaborations with development and government partners to contribute my expertise toward strengthening the ethical and responsible use of digital media for greater public impact.

A story that stays with you.

Last year, we produced a purpose-driven documentary on inclusive education for children with disabilities at Noor-e-Sehar Special Education School, Dharki, Sindh, developed for the Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) with Mari Energies.

The film captures what true inclusion looks like: access to quality learning, dedicated teachers, and a community that shows up.

More than a documentary, it’s a call to view inclusive education as a long-term social investment, driving equity, dignity, and sustainable impact.

When it comes to gender-based violence response, training defines how a survivor is treated at their most critical moment. In 2025, Sparkom partnered with Rozan and UNFPA Pakistan to develop bilingual training video modules for frontline GBV responders across Pakistan, from healthcare workers and law enforcement to community practitioners. We approached this as a systems challenge, designing survivor-centred training content that builds empathy, consistency, and real-world response capacity.

· Nationwide Training Resource: Developed standardized training modules usable across government departments, NGOs, healthcare facilities, and law-enforcement institutions.

· Modern 2D Animation: Applied a clean, state-of-the-art animation style to simplify complex protocols and sensitive scenarios without retraumatization.

· Survivor-Centred Design: Scripts emphasized safe disclosure, informed consent, confidentiality, non-judgmental communication, and referral pathways.

· Story-Driven Learning: Structured content around relatable situations, improving comprehension and long-term retention.

There is a unique magic in the "action" before the final cut.

Yesterday, we wrapped the shoot of a Ramzan campaign DVC for Human Development Foundation - HDF, featuring the legendary artist and cultural icon Leyla Zuberi.

Moments like these reaffirm why, as a communications specialist, on-field video production remains the most fulfilling part of my work. It is where strategy meets soul, where narratives are shaped in real time, visuals are crafted with intent, and ideas evolve through collaboration.

Filmmaking on ground is never linear. It thrives on improvisation, teamwork, and the shared energy of artists, communities, and crew. Each location brings new emotions, new perspectives, and new people who quietly influence the story being told.

This process is raw, human, and immersive, where communication truly comes alive, transforming purpose into impact through powerful visual storytelling.
