How Pakistanis See Iran–U.S. Tensions Through the Lens of Peace, Security, and Economy
In moments of regional crisis, public opinion becomes more than sentiment. It becomes a strategic signal.
IPOR’s newly released survey, From Iran–Israel Conflict to Islamabad Talks, reveals a Pakistani public that is not only closely engaged with regional developments, but sharply aware of their implications for peace, security, and the economy.
The findings are difficult to ignore:
☑️ 89% strongly support Iran.
☑️ 86% believe the conflict is having a very negative impact on Pakistan’s economy.
☑️ 56% see it as a high future security risk for Pakistan.
☑️ 52% want Pakistan to support international efforts for peace.
☑️ 76% believe Pakistan played the most important role in the recent temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
Taken together, these results tell a deeper story.
Pakistanis are not responding to this conflict through a single lens. They are connecting geopolitics with inflation, diplomacy with national interest, and regional instability with Pakistan’s long-term security. That level of public clarity matters.

With a nationwide sample of 1,024 respondents, collected through CATI from 8–10 April 2026, this study offers a timely evidence-based view into how Pakistanis are interpreting one of the region’s most sensitive developments.
