Jamaat-e-Islami Kicks Off 'Historic Power Show' with Three-Day Ijtema at Minar-e-Pakistan
LAHORE, PAKISTAN – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has commenced what is being billed as the largest "power show" in its history, a three-day national general convention (Ijtema-e-Aam) that began on Friday at the iconic Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. The event is set to conclude on Sunday evening.
The convention, operating under the central theme of "Change the System" (Badal Do Nizaam), has drawn thousands of participants from across Pakistan, including men, women, and children. Organizers have made extensive logistical arrangements to accommodate the massive influx of attendees at the Greater Iqbal Park venue.
The event features significant international participation, with over 100 delegates representing more than 50 countries joining the local leadership and cadres.
The convention officially began following Friday prayers and includes various sessions where JI leadership, including Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, addresses the attendees on the party's vision, current political landscape, and future strategy.
