Most UI/UX designers won’t survive the next 3 years.
Not because of AI.
Not because the market is crowded.
But because too many still focus on:
• Pretty screens
• Trends overthinking• UI before the problem
• Tools before clarity
That era is ending.
Companies now need designers who:
• Understand business
• Explain decisions
• Reduce friction
• Drive outcomes
• Think beyond Figma
UI isn’t the skill anymore.
Thinking is.

🚨 Think UI and UX are the same thing?
You’re not alone. But they play very different roles.

Let’s break it down in a simple, visual way 👇

🧠 UX (User Experience)
This is about how a product feels to use.

Ask yourself:
✅ Is it easy or frustrating?
✅ Can users complete tasks quickly?
✅ Do they move smoothly or get stuck?

UX focuses on flow, logic, structure, and problem-solving.
It’s the thinking behind the experience.

🎨 UI (User Interface)
This is what users see and touch.

Think:
🎨 Colors, typography, spacing
🔘 Buttons, icons, interactions
📐 Clean layouts and visual clarity

UI creates the look, mood, and first impression.

📱 Quick example:
Setting an alarm in a clock app.

UX: Can you set it instantly without thinking?
UI: Is it visually clear, readable, and pleasant?

💡 The takeaway:
UX = how it works
UI = how it looks

Great products don’t choose one over the other.
They blend both to create experiences people actually enjoy using.

UI/UX Reality Check- Dear recruiters,
A UX/UI Designer is not an entire design department!

Stop asking one person to cover everything from:
UX Research - user interviews / IA / heuristic evaluation
UX Strategy - personas/journey mapping/wireframes
UI Design - Figma / Sketch /AdobeXD
Product Design - responsive flows / mobile-first / design systems
Usability Testing - A/B testing / eye-tracking / analytics
Frontend Dev - HTML / CSS / JavaScript
Motion Design - micro interactions/animations
Content Design - UX writing/tone/clarity
Branding - typography / moodboards / identity

That’s not a role… that’s an entire creative department.
When one JD demands eight roles,
User experience suffers.
Creativity collapses.
Talent walks away.

Good design needs focus.
Great UX needs research.
Innovation needs time.

Build cross-functional teams.
Respect specializations.
Let designers design.

Figma didn’t ask who the user was.
Figma didn’t question why the problem existed.
Figma didn’t care if the solution even made sense.

Design actually begins before you open Figma:

👉 Listening more than drawing
👉 Asking uncomfortable questions
👉 Understanding real user pain
👉 Being able to explain why a design exists

Figma only helps me draw the solution.
It never creates the thinking behind it.

Many of us believe that learning Figma is enough to become a designer.
But the truth is—
learning a tool is not the same as learning design.

Figma is just a pencil.
A designer is someone who asks questions before picking it up.

If Figma disappeared tomorrow,
I hope my design thinking would still survive 🤞😄

Because Ctrl + Z can’t fix bad thinking.

So if you’re a beginner reading this—

Don’t rush to look like a designer.
Grow into thinking like one.

Learn design.
Not just software.

UI makes it look good.
UX makes it work better.
A clean interface might impress at first glance,
but a smooth experience keeps users coming back.
Good design isn’t just what you see —
It’s what you feel while using it.

A UI/UX Designer does far more than just design screens.
The role requires a broad and versatile skill set.
It starts with
research → wireframing → prototyping → design systems
and extends to
communication → documentation → presentations.
Every stage influences how users experience the product.
That’s what makes design complex—
and incredibly rewarding.
Because design isn’t about making things look good.
It’s about creating solutions that are:
functional
user-centered
scalable
Great design lives at the intersection of strategy and ex*****on.
And mastering that balance?
That’s what transforms designers into true product thinkers.
