Video has appeared on social media showing the moment the last operational An-22 crashed in the Ivanovo region, north-east of Moscow.

The accident on Tuesday killed everyone on board — the five crew members and two passengers.

Last year, Lieutenant General Vladimir Benediktov, the commander of Military Transport Aviation, stated that the Russian Aerospace Forces would retire these aircraft in 2024. It is possible that the command changed its decision in light of significant losses of Il-76 military transport aircraft and decided to restore some An-22 aircraft.

Qantas A380 wing damaged during its first flight back after nearly six years in storage. VH-OQC was flying from Sydney to Los Angeles on 7 December at the time of the incident and has been grounded since.

The slat, which is a movable component that extends the wing during takeoff and landing operations, had experienced delamination.

“The aircraft operated normally and landed without incident. Engineers are now replacing the slat so it can return to operations," a Qantas spokesperson said.

After all these years of hard work, sleepless nights, digging through crash reports like a forensic detective, posting nonstop, sharing knowledge, giving my valuable time…

It’s okay.
I am not competing with Burj Al Arab, the only 7-star hotel on Earth. I am just running a humble aviation page where turbulence is normal and landing gear occasionally refuses to deploy.

But fine.
Four stars it is ..
My heart is still intact… mostly.
