Neither format shown here is wrong, but here's whatβs important:point_down:
Every piece of content SHOULD come with a purpose and choosing the right format is crucial to reach that purpose.
For this example I used the same exact video, but published them in two different formats: Instagram Reels and Instagram Video.
Again, there's no right or wrong, but it depends what you're trying to accomplish.
Instagram Reels is great for discoverability and as shown in the results, there are twice the amount of views on an Instagram Reel vs. the regular video format.
However, the engagement is actually better on the regular video format and it was still being shown to non-followers.
Instagram video is great when it comes to long-form video such as LIVE replays, or when you're trying to teach something that your audience wants to learn about.
This is a completely different purpose than sharing a quick format video on Instagram Reels to grab people's attention and be discoverable by new accounts.
So before you follow the crowd and jump on creating Reels, carousels, static graphics, you need to know your purpose first.
