BMW and German boatbuilder Tyde have unveiled their latest collaboration, The Open, a luxurious electric foiling yacht. Following The Icon's debut at the Cannes Film Festival, The Open targets private users interested in sustainable luxury watercraft.
The 49-foot day boat boasts hydrofoils from racing yachts, minimizing energy consumption by nearly 80%. Its zero-emission drivetrain features a 400kWh BMW i3 battery bank and twin 100kW Torqeedo Deep Blue electric motors.
With a top speed of 30 knots and a range of 50 nautical miles at 25 knots, The Open represents a leap in elegant, sustainable mobility on the water
