Elon Musk, who runs Tesla, said he was joking about having a fight with Mark Zuckerberg, who is in charge of Meta. They talked back and forth more after this. The problem between Musk and Zuckerberg began when Zuckerberg made an app called Threads, which was like a competitor to Musk's social media, X (used to be Twitter). Musk first said on X that he would fight Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg replied on Instagram, asking where. Musk then said that Zuckerberg was avoiding the challenge. He mentioned even offering the Colosseum in Italy for the fight, but Zuckerberg said no. Musk also suggested fighting at Zuckerberg’s home, but he said he was busy. Musk asked if there was any place where Zuckerberg would agree to fight.
Later, Zuckerberg said on Threads that he's not interested in fighting because Musk isn't serious about it. He wants to compete with people who are serious about fighting. In response, Musk called Zuckerberg a "chicken" on X.
The heads of Meta and X/Twitter talked about having a cage match like in MMA through posts on their platforms. It began when Musk replied to a tweet on June 20, saying he'd do a cage match if Zuckerberg wanted to.
