To be honest, It's all down to what you are telling people, it exists in your verbal identity and message.

People are making opinions about you based on what they read about you, especially on digital media.

Your message and content should be one that draws them in a subtle way.

People hate being pushed or cajoled. You need to empathize with...

-their journey,
-their challenges
-their desires
-their ambitions.

If what you say doesn't consider all these, then you are simply commanding them to patronize you without actually giving them a genuine reason to.

Did you know that Netflix thumbnails are important when choosing a movie or series to watch? Let me explain to you how this works.

Netflix creates a bunch of thumbnails for a single movie or series... and shows you the best tailor-made thumbnail for you.

👻 If you like old movies.
They’ll probably show you this thumbnail, referring to the movie “Ghostbusters”.

👹 If you like horror movies.
They’ll show you something that fits with what you've watched before.

Another good example is these thumbnails. Same show, different approaches.

🎥 And why this works?.
As you know, humans are visual creatures. Netflix found that the biggest influence on a user to pick a movie were the thumbnails. More personalization on the visuals equals the highest chances to watch any movie or series (even if it’s not the best for you).

Have you noticed a trend in big company logo’s lately?

There’s been a landslide in companies stripping depth, texture & 3D elements, replacing them with a flat simplistic logo.

So why is this happening? How has the digital landscape drifted logos into a new fashion trend and will it be permanent?

Logos are being dramatically simplified because attention has drifted away from the physical world of signs and billboards and brand identities require mobile-first design.

This is among many other pressures that logos are currently facing.

However, at the same time, looking at Web3 capabilities in the coming decade, 3D logos may very well make a powerful resurgence.

The $50,000,000 packaging design mistake.

Tropicana is a juice brand we all know and probably love.

However, in 2009 it wasn’t the case. At least in the North American market (Their biggest market, by the way)

Tropicana decided to rebrand and redesign its packaging for a bolder loom.

Sounds good, right? Nope. A fatal error was made.

Lack of familiarity 😧

The brand and packaging had changed so much that consumers could no longer recognize it on a crowded supermarket shelf.

This means total sales were down around 30%, resulting in a $50,000,000 loss.
