At first, I was going to make something digitally but then I figured I’d try out my new flashlight and it’s diffuser to do some good old-fashioned light writing. Anyways, here’s wishing you a wonderful Eid filled with peace, mercy, joy and afiyat! 🌙❤️

Designed structural layout blocks as one of my last tasks at an organization that I’ve been working with for almost 5 years and this definitely felt different. Lots of nostalgia and other overwhelming feelings but life is nothing if not for change and I pray Allah blesses my next journey, making it one of khayr, of growth and of good here and hereafter, Ameen.

To full calendars. May Allah put blessing in our time and guide us to spend it in the best of ways. Numbered are our tired days, measured our heaving breaths but to be imprisoned by life is to have died a thousand deaths. O Allah, grant to these weary travelers then, a good journey and a beautiful end.

Trying to get the app for America’s only mainstream Muslim TV channel up and running in time for Ramadan. This is just one of several different fronts I work on as part of director digital. The channel is available via satellite to 55M people across the US, Canada and Mexico and will be available to a whole lot more soon, Insha’Allah through native apps on all major platforms. :)

So, as an experiment, I took this excellent book with me to the barbershop to make my time there more productive. While I couldn’t read the entire time, I’m happy I made good progress while treating myself to some self-care. Going to do this more often, Insha’Allah! 💈 💇🏻‍♂️

I designed this wordmark for Colors of Islam which is a weekly online club for 8-12 year olds. The club involves having conversations with Muslim youth early-on about important topics such as race, privilege and empathy (among others) so they can grow up to become effective and inclusive members of the community. Designed to be approachable, safe and inviting, I really like how this turned out. Let me know what you think! ❤️
