Website Ranking Recovery Case Study #1
Another site recovered as of October 1, 2024. client lost almost 70% of its organic traffic starting from 1 June (went from approx. 1500 per day to 500 per day). Came to us at the in start of July and availed our recovery service. in 3 months, site is back on track
This is what we did
1. Analyzed the google updates and verified it from https://status.search.google.com/summary and made a list of google focuses in March and June Update.
2. Based on our analysis, we did an in-depth audit of the website. We used screaming frog and log analyzer along with GSC & GA4 reports. We can never forget Competitor analysis and SERP volatility analysis.
3. After a complete audit, we crafted out an A/B split testing action plan, a boilerplate content optimization strategy, technical error fixing, and a growth plan.
4. We did aggressive fixing ( within 1 month) and worked very little on backlinks in 2nd month. We sit tight and relaxed in 3rd months and Boom, Site is back, Alhamdulillah
(Yes, we didn't publish any new article and not touch the content that much.)
what are the key takeaways.
1. We asked the owner to do what he was doing for past 12 months consistently.
2. We made real site speed optimized. Although site speed was showing 90+ in lab score, it was failing on real-time data.
3. We fixed 404 and 301 hits using log file.
4. We did internal link juice flow optimization of the website.
5. I myself write the boiler plate content.
6. I added few things to enhance the engagement time on website
7. I made backlinks on brand's social profile and enlarge the brand entity by proper exclusion and inclusion of related entities (no, there is no tool for that, but you can use On page and off page for this purpose)
8. I applied best Possible schemas on website.
9. I added extra pages for showcasing brand policies, and yes, I wrote the content myself with the help of ChatGPT.
10. There were other things too, like adding code to properly handle canonical tags, query strings, breadcrumbs, indexing, and localization tags.
I worked alot to create impression of authority website, but that has so little i term of content creation. These things are beyond the scope of this post. Soon I'll create a formal video regarding the entire process.
