What is Qurbani?
Qurbani is a Sacrifice That is Offered at the Time of Eid Al-Adha to Show Gratitude Towards Allah (Swt) and to Provide for the Poor and Needy. The Prophet Muhammad (S.a.w.w) Was Once Asked by His Companions: “o Prophet of Allah! What is This Qurbani?” He replied, “it is the Sunnah of Your Father, Ibrahim (a.s).” (Hadith – Ibn Majah) Allah (Swt) says in the Qur’an: “it is Neither Their Flesh Nor Their Blood That Reaches Allah; It is Your Piety That Reaches Him.” (Qur’an 22:37) Qurbani Has Been Performed From the Time of Ibrahim (as) and Commemorates Also Ibrahim’s Willingness to Sacrifice His Son, Who Was Replaced by an Animal at the Time of Sacrifice.
A butcher is a person who may slaughter animals, dress their flesh, sell their meat, or participate within any combination of these three tasks. They may prepare standard cuts of meat and poultry for sale in retail or wholesale food establishments.
Butchers at a butcher shop may perform primary butchery, but will typically perform secondary butchery to prepare fresh cuts of meat for sale.
Butchery is a traditional line of work. In the industrialized world, slaughterhouses use butchers to slaughter the animals, performing one or a few of the steps repeatedly as specialists on a semi-automated disassembly line. The steps include stunning, exsanguination, skinning or scalding and evisceration and splitting.

What is Aqeeqah
"Aqeeqah (Arabic: عقيقة) Aqeeqahis the Islamic tradition of the sacrifice of an animal on the occasion of a child's birth".
Question
I heard so many times that when a Muslim boy is born, two sheep should be slaughtered, and when a Muslim girl is born only one. First of all, I would like to know if it is true, I mean Sunnah or obligatory. If yes, I would really like to know why. I mean if there is a special reason? How is it explained by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saws) then? Some sisters and I heard about this, but actually I really wasn't sure if it is correct.
Answer
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
This sacrifice which is done for the newborn is called ‘Aqeeqah. The scholars differed concerning the ruling on ‘Aqeeqah; some of them said that it is obligatory and others said that it is Sunnah mu’akkadah (a confirmed Sunnah).
The scholars of the Standing Committee said:
‘Aqeeqah is Sunnah mu’akkadah. For a boy two sheep should be sacrificed, each of which should meet the same conditions as a sheep for sacrifice, and for a girl, one sheep should be sacrificed. The sheep should be slaughtered on the seventh day, but if there is a delay it may be slaughtered at any time, and there is no sin in delaying it, although it is preferable to do it as soon as possible. And Allaah is the Source of strength; may Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions.
