Your Facebook reach is dying and it's probably not the algorithm.
I see this all the time in freelance communities. People post consistently, put in real effort, then watch their numbers tank.
Here's what's actually going on:
1. You're broadcasting, not starting conversations
Facebook rewards posts that spark replies. If your content ends with a statement instead of a question, you're leaving reach on the table.
2. You're posting and ghosting
The first 30–60 minutes after posting are critical. If you're not replying to comments in that window, the algorithm assumes nobody cares.
3. Your hooks aren't stopping the scroll
The first line is everything. If it doesn't create curiosity or speak to a real pain point, people keep scrolling and your reach collapses.
4. You're sharing links in the post
Facebook actively suppresses posts that push users off the platform. Move your link to the first comment instead.
5. Your audience has gone cold
If followers stopped engaging months ago, Facebook stops showing them your content. You need fresh engagement not just new posts.
