Everyone is still talking about CHANEL Métiers d’Art. The show was exceptional! And the soundtrack? Soooo good.
The whole thing felt like a performance, because that’s exactly what a runway is. Clothes, space, lighting, movement, and music… Can you even imagine a show without all that?
Designers experiment with different approaches, from ambient sound to stronger, more defined tracks. But whatever the form, music always becomes part of how we understand the show.
Music is an integral part of a brand’s identity. In a show, it should align with the location, the theme of the collection, and what the brand wants to communicate in that moment.
It’s a strong strategic element. It’s part of the creative director’s vision, as the person responsible for shaping the brand and how it’s perceived.
