Meet Marina Alistratova — E-Contenta key account manager.

Every member of the E-Contenta team is an excellent professional in his/her field. And we think it's time to tell you more about each of them. That's why we sat down with our colleague Marina who is responsible for communicating with our European clients to talk about her work, challenges, and passions.

❓What are your responsibilities at E-Contenta?

In brief, I’m a liaison between our agency and its EU clients. Every day I'm cultivating the agency-client relationship, determining clients’ needs - what they’re looking to achieve short-term and long-term - and ensuring we deliver it. Monitoring budgets, spending, and explaining cost factors to clients are also part of the gig.

❓What are you most interested in working?

Most of all, I am curious to get acquainted with different verticals in business, to dive into metrics and indicators that lead the company to generate more profit. What is their business all about? What’s the current state of their industry? What are their goals, and how can E-Contenta help them achieve them? That's the questions I try to find answers to every day.

❓If you should formulate the most important things when building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, what would it be?

To manage expectations. The account manager is the keeper of the project’s budget, schedule, and scope. The client needs to know what will be happening when, and how much it will cost them. They also need to know the consequences of breaking the scope, extending the schedule, or reducing the budget.

❓The pandemic forced us to conduct most of our communication with customers remotely. What has been so far the most challenging thing for you in this situation?

Well, actually I think that the pandemic has taught us that no borders can limit the possibilities of our business. So we at E-Contenta consider this current situation as a great opportunity to scale our business internationally and reach out to more companies that are looking for better results in marketing.

❓What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I love playing golf 🤩 I have been taking group golf lessons for 2 years now. During the winter it's indoor practice and during the summer we play on the outdoor golf course. Green colors, a long walk, moments of competition, and my friends around. Sounds like I’m living the dream!

Kyiv TechHub 2021: two days, startup competition and two panel discussions

Polish - Ukrainian Startup Bridge has held the fifth Kyiv TechHub. This time twenty startups had just a few minutes to pitch their wares to the audience and a panel of expert judges. Besides that, participants attended two panel discussions on challenges and opportunities for companies entering EU markets which were hosted and moderated by Blazej Soniewicki, CEO of E-Contenta EU.

The event resulted in three startup winners with a total prize of PLN 50 000. Here they are:

Blazej Soniewicki, CEO of E-Contenta EU, will host panel discussions at Kyiv Tech Hub

Kyiv Tech Hub 2021 by Polish - Ukrainian Startup Bridge starts this Thursday! It is a large-scale two-day international conference, which takes place in the high-tech capital of Eastern Europe – Kyiv.

At the event, twenty startups from Ukraine will have a few minutes to pitch their wares to the audience and a panel of expert judges, and the opportunity to talk to Polish VCs such as Simpact VC, Shape.VC, SMOK Ventures, SpeedUp Group , ABAN Fund, VC Link, YouNick Mint, and Inovo Venture Partners!

And we are happy to announce that on the first day of the event Blazej Soniewicki, CEO of E-Contenta EU, will host and moderate panel discussions where specialists from the European and Ukrainian markets will talk about challenges and opportunities for companies entering EU markets.

Telegram launched their own ad selling platform

The Telegram Ad Platform will allow advertisers to promote channels and bots within the messenger. Sponsored messages will be up to 160 characters long and will appear in channels with at least one thousand subscribers. The cost of one thousand impressions of the sponsored message will be € 2.

In addition, the messenger will continue to follow the principle of non-disclosure of user data. Thus, an advertiser will not be able to insert an external link into the advertising message. The only available targeting options on the platform will be the language and topic of the channel, as well as the specific channel on which the sponsored post will be displayed.

At the moment, all ad revenue will go to Telegram. However, after testing the platform, the messenger will start sharing ad revenues with channel owners.

"E-commerce platforms established meaningful high-margin digital ad businesses", says Insider Intelligence

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have seen more and more new developments being introduced into the e-commerce world. Research service Insider Intelligence has chosen three of them that are here not only to stay but also to change the game.

One of the conclusions states that brands should evaluate their retail media strategy as e-commerce platforms are basically becoming new retail media.

"Following Amazon’s example with its surging ad business (Amazon’s ”Other” revenues, composed primarily of advertising, increased 87% year over year (YoY) to more than $7.9 billion in its Q2 2021 earnings), marketplaces like Walmart, Instacart, eBay, and Etsy have already established meaningful high-margin digital ad businesses. And a wave of multichannel retailers like Target, Best Buy, Kroger, and The Home Depot are developing their own retail media networks. We forecast that US e-commerce channel advertising—a close proxy for retail media—will rise 27.8% this year to $23.92 billion, as brands selling online tap the power of retailers’ first-party data for performance advertising", said in the article.
