Tomorrow marks 5 months since my knee surgery, and it has been a time of ups and downs. Sometimes you can achieve so much and then nothing at all or maybe you get set backs, feel frustrated or in my case...total panic. About two months ago I was finishing my second round of physical therapy. I have been taking my sessions with one of the best therapist I have ever meet....

A week went and I was slowly getting use to move without using my right leg. It was hard because I love to move as fast as I can while thinking about a million things, but now...talk about mindfulness. I had to learn how to LIVE slowly. Be completely aware of every move so I wouldn't hurt myself or YIKES...fall. I was tolerating ice bags on my injury which helped a lot with the inflammation and pain....

After the surgery I went to my Mom's house to be taken care of. My Mom, Got bless her left me her bed. I tried to take a nap there but when I tried to get up, since her bed is really high I got hurt coming off it. So for the next 6 weeks I slept in a very hard but low futon in the guest room which felt perfect....

The day of my surgery finally arrived. I felt a combination of excitement, apprehension, and a lot of fear. During the pre admission, they told me that the hospital would call me the night before to let me know the time of my surgery. And so they did, and to my relief I was going to be the first one. I was so happy and thankful until the lady told me that I had to be at the hospital at 4:30 in the morning...yikes!...
