You have to become more efficient and you have to do it now. Here's why:
Your volume is increasing and delivery requirements are tightening. This isn't temporary. How can you handle it?
Maybe you can add shifts. Where will you find the people to staff them? Semi-skilled operators are gold. Skilled craftspeople are diamonds.
Maybe you're already running multiple shifts. Now you have to build more space and buy more equipment. That costs time. Money too but time is most critical. A new line may take a year or more from needing to commissioning.
Where will you find the people to run it?
There's a faster, better, way to add capacity: More efficient use of existing capacity.
Small gains add big capacity. Improve efficiency by just 2 percentage points, whether from 52 to 54% or 87 to 89% and gain a week of extra capacity (Challenge me to show you the math). Eliminate 10 minutes of daily downtime: gain a week. If you run multiple shifts, it's even more.
Muda (wastefulness) has accumulated in your plant over the years. It makes your whole team do a lot of extra, unnecessary, work every day. It's normal, it's what muda does. It accumulates, becomes part of the daily landscape and you never see it.
You need a fresh set of eyes.
I am those eyes. I will audit your process, identify capacity killing muda and develop effective, capacity building, solutions.
You can't get new results using the same old methods. Trying to so will just drive you crazy and still won't get you where you need to be.

Thank you.
