𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀? 🤎 After that incredible week in Aachen, from 10–15 August, we came home with full hearts and completely overwhelmed with emotions. So many incredible moments, so much happening — definitely a week we won’t forget anytime soon! 🇩🇪

And after all that excitement, we decided it was time to slow down a little. We took two well-deserved weeks off, switched off for a bit, and enjoyed some proper holiday time. ☀️

But… time to saddle up again! 😏 And here we are, back behind our computers — because apparently we can’t stay away from them (or our horses, of course!) for too long... 😂💻🐴

What a night in Aachen! A 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟰𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 created an incredible human frame around the Freestyle, with the atmosphere electric from the very first entry to the final halt ⚡🔥

And what a Freestyle it was! A fiercely disputed and incredibly intense battle, with the scores shifting throughout and 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! Every point mattered. Every mistake could change the podium. The pressure was immense!

Yesterday’s Grand Prix Special Individual Final was absolutely UNREAL! 🤩🎉

Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale danced their way to the gold medal, delivering goosebump moments in the arena at the Allianz Park.

Yesterday, Portugal’s two remaining combinations completed the Grand Prix Special — another day filled with emotion as Portugal continues to experience the best World Championship in the history of Portuguese dressage.

João Torrão & Lírio once again delivered an emotional test, finishing 𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟳𝟭.𝟯𝟵𝟴%, while Maria Caetano & Hit Plus maintained their solid form, scoring 𝟳𝟭.𝟭𝟮𝟱% 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 among the 30 combinations who contested the Grand Prix Special.

It is incredible to see both Portuguese combinations 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝟮𝟱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. Their scores were not enough to qualify for today’s Grand Prix Freestyle, where only the top 15 will compete, but it is still an impressive achievement — and a clear sign of the evolution of Portuguese dressage on the world stage 🇵🇹

There are plenty of emotions here in Aachen, and we feel incredibly proud — and privileged — to be here, witnessing it all firsthand, so close to these brilliant riders and their incredible horses, and bringing these moments directly to you.

For Lusitano World, being here is about more than simply covering the World Championships. It means being part of the history that is being written for Portugal — and we are so proud to be here for it!

Here are the facts of what we accomplished — and what had never been done before:

• 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Portugal’s BEST-EVER result at a Dressage World Championship.
• 𝟯 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝟳𝟬%.
• 𝟮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘅 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹: João Torrão and Maria Caetano both qualified for Friday’s Grand Prix Special, where the individual medals will be decided.

History made 🇵🇹❤️ 20 years after Portugal first fielded a full team at the World Championships, we have reached several new milestones. Our previous best team result was 10th. Aachen 2026 takes Portugal to 7th in the team competition.

We could not be prouder of João Torrão & Lírio MVL, Maria Caetano & Hit Plus, João Moreira & Drosa Fürst Kennedy, and Vasco Mira Godinho & Marquês dos Cedros — four combinations carrying the Portuguese flag with pride on one of the biggest stages in our sport.

Yesterday, Aachen brought two more strong performances for Portugal, with João Pedro Moreira and Maria Caetano both delivering scores above 70% and adding valuable points to the Portuguese team’s campaign.

𝗝𝗼𝗮̃𝗼 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮 & 𝗙𝘂̈𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱𝘆 — 𝟳𝟬.𝟮𝟬𝟮%
It wasn’t the easiest start, as Fürst Kennedy needed to attend to his toilet needs right at the beginning of the test, which affected their opening scores. But what followed was an impressive recovery. João kept his focus, rode through the difficulty and progressively brought the marks back up, finishing the test on 70.202%.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗼 & 𝗛𝗶𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀 — 𝟳𝟭.𝟬𝟮𝟱%
Always a pleasure to watch Maria, the queen of Portuguese dressage, in the arena. Focused, determined and always composed, Maria delivered a very solid performance with Hit Plus, finishing on 71.025%.

🇵🇹𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗡 — 𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧!

Yesterday, Aachen delivered one of those days that remind us why this sport is so special.

The atmosphere was absolutely incredible. And for Portugal, it was a particularly meaningful day: Vasco Mira Godinho riding Marquês dos Cedros, was the first Portuguese combination to cross the centre line in Aachen. The duo delivered a beautiful, solid and composed test, finishing on an impressive 68.680%.

Later in the day, Lírio and João Torrão entered the arena and produced a very confident and expressive performance, earning an outstanding 71.398%.

Two Lusitanos, competing among the very best in the world — and delivering performances that made us incredibly proud.

Today, the Portuguese campaign continues.

At 10:15, Joao Moreira will cross the centre line, followed at 15:35 by Maria Caetano OLY who will take her turn in the Main Stadium in Aachen.
