Next week, Double Shore will be back at Codegarden in Copenhagen, the annual gathering of the Umbracocommunity.

And this year, the squad is even stronger.

Our CEO, Marco Teodoro, is once again representing Double Shore, but he is not going alone. Joining the team are Marisa Rodrigues, our Head of UX/UI Design, and Rodrigo Pinto, one of our Frontend Developers.

Because, for us, Umbraco is not just the technology we use every day in our projects. It is a community we are part of, one we learn from and grow with.

That is why we are genuinely excited to be close again to the people who live and breathe this ecosystem too. We will be exchanging experiences, discovering what is new and bringing back fresh ideas to help us create even better work.

As Amorim Cork's digital ecosystem expanded across multiple brands, websites, and initiatives, maintaining consistency became increasingly challenging.

Different platforms, different patterns, and different teams created a level of complexity that made content management and platform scalability increasingly difficult over time.

Before creating anything new, we focused on understanding what already existed.

Because only with a clear understanding of the current digital landscape can informed decisions be made about what should be improved, standardised, or developed next.

We worked closely with Amorim; we mapped and analysed the digital assets, components, and patterns that had evolved across the organisation over the years, bringing greater visibility and structure to the building blocks already in place.

This work laid the foundation for a structured design system, making it easier for teams to understand, reuse, and evolve their digital platforms with confidence.

The result was more than visual consistency. It created a stronger foundation for governance, faster decision-making, improved scalability, and greater autonomy for internal teams developing new digital experiences.

Most of the time, the request sounds clear:

“We need a new website.”

But when you look closer, that’s rarely the real problem.

What’s usually missing is visibility:
What’s actually working
What users are doing
What content is being used
What’s being ignored

Rebuilding without that clarity often leads to the same issues, just in a new interface.

We’ve seen more value come from understanding existing platforms properly than from replacing them.

Not every problem needs a rebuild.
Some need better questions.

Building a digital platform is one of the most significant investments a business can make.

The architecture has to be right. The UX has to work. The performance has to hold. And it takes time to plan, to build, to get it to where it needs to be.

But the launch isn't the finish line. It's the moment when the platform needs to start working for the business: Generating traffic; converting visitors; supporting growth over time.

That's where development and marketing need to stop being two separate tracks.
When they're built as one system, where the platform is designed with commercial intent and the marketing is informed by how the platform actually works, the results are different. Fundamentally different and better.

The platform converts because it was designed to. The campaigns perform because the foundation supports them. And the investment made in development starts to return.

Upgrading one Umbraco site is one thing.
Upgrading more than 130… is something else entirely.

We’ve been working with Progress Systems, a leading provider of Credit Union solutions in Ireland, to help modernise their Umbraco platform from v8 to v17 across their entire customer base.

Instead of treating each site as a separate project, we designed a scalable migration approach that could handle multiple sites efficiently, ensuring consistency, reducing risk, and saving months of manual work.

The result is a more secure, high-performing, and future-ready platform, delivered without disrupting their clients. A good example of what the right technical approach and partnership can unlock.

Over time, we've grown, and as we evolved, it became clear that our brand needed more clarity, consistency, and intention to truly reflect who we are today.

This rebrand marks a step forward, shaped by a new way of thinking about what we do and where we're going. More than a visual change, it represents a shift in positioning and a clearer strategy that guides everything we build.

Our colour palette evolved too. We moved towards more vibrant tones and stronger contrast, designed to perform better across digital environments while strengthening a cohesive and more intentional identity.

At its core is twilight blue, a deep shade rooted in where we come from, the coast, the origin of Shore, with subtle purple undertones that reflect creativity, experience, and long-term thinking. Alongside it, a more vibrant green brings energy and progression, reinforcing the idea of movement and momentum. Together, they create a balance between confidence and evolution, built with accessibility as a priority across every touchpoint.

The symbol follows the same thinking. It combines a D and an S into a single form, shaped by the idea of a toggle, a continuous shift between onshore and offshore. It represents how we work: connected, adaptable, and always in motion, between teams, locations, and ex*****on.

Our voice is now more structured, more transparent, and more confident, reflecting the way we think, work, and build.

Double has also gained a deeper meaning, aligned with our international focus, the way we connect across borders, and the relationship between teams, ideas, and ex*****on.

Same obsession with building things that actually hold together: across UX/UI, development, and marketing. A clearer, sharper, and more defined version of who Double Shore is today.

When it came to rethinking Double Shore, we decided to apply the same process we use with our clients, on o ourselves.

We started with a UX mindset.
Understanding who we are speaking to, analysing competitors, mapping references, defining personas, and sharpening our tone of voice.

Then came structure.
We rebuilt our information architecture from the ground up, creating space for deeper content, clearer services, case studies, and a more complete narrative of who we are.

We followed a Design Thinking approach throughout: questioning, exploring, iterating.
What problem are we solving? For whom? And how do we do it better?

From low-fi wireframes to multiple iterations, this was not a linear process.
Designing for ourselves proved to be one of the most challenging parts. It turns out that being your own client is harder than it looks. 🫣

Now, we're in the final stages. Our landing page is live, while the full site is coming soon (still being developed, tested, and refined across devices).

This was more than a rebrand. It was alignment.
