I woke up to a small milestone this morning: Studio OAX has officially reached 2k followers 🤍

And I just wanted to take a short moment to say thank you for being here, for following along, and for engaging with the work I share.

Sharing the work of your business online can feel a little strange at times. You put your heart out there, often without knowing who’s on the other side of the screen. So every follow, message, comment, and conversation genuinely means a lot to me.

To be transparent (and I know a lot of you feel the same way), the pressure of constantly “having to” create and post can feel quite exhausting at times. But seeing that there are people who resonate with what I share, find value in it and enjoy following the journey gives me the confidence and motivation to keep showing up.

Thank you for reminding me that the work we’re doing at Studio OAX has meaning beyond my own screen.

I appreciate every single one of you and look forward to sharing much more with you in the months ahead.

A little insight on what’s been happening behind the scenes at Studio OAX this week 👀 After having a day off on Monday, I went straight back into the groove of things ;) it’s been a very productive week but I am also looking forward to a summery weekend (and my partners birthday celebrations) here in Lisbon 🎈

This moodboard for a Pilates studio brand started as a simple inspiration board but somehow ended up reaching thousands of people on Pinterest ... 👀 and after seeing how many studio owners resonated with it, I knew I had to turn the initial idea into something bigger.

So… something exciting is finally coming to life behind the scenes.

For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a website template specifically for boutique Pilates studios. One that is designed around the actual needs of studio owners, feels elevated and aesthetic, but is also approachable for newer studios and flexible enough to make it your own.

Right now, I’m in the final stages of building it and the launch is planned for the end of next month 🤍

Think:
– thoughtful, editorial design
– easy customisation
– seamless booking system integration
– and a strong foundation for studios wanting to look premium without investing in a fully custom website from day one.

.nl was my very first client when Studio OAX had only just started, which makes this recent website refresh feel especially full circle…

Not only did Alex & Marian trust and support me in the very early stages of building my business, they’ve also built an incredible platform shaping how Black heritage and identity are understood and passed on through podcasts, articles, and community-led conversations.

Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful that from the beginning, I attracted clients building purposeful brands that genuinely serve and impact the communities around them. Those are exactly the kinds of businesses and founders I want to continue supporting through thoughtful branding and web design.

As a designer, I’ve always been deeply inspired by editorial design: the way fashion magazines, boutique hotels, or luxury brands create feeling through layout, spacing, typography, and imagery.

What makes them feel elevated is rarely complexity, it’s usually restraint. The careful use of white space, a layout that guides your eye, typography that feels refined and imagery that creates exactly the right atmosphere.

And I think the same applies to branding. The strongest brands make sure their entire visual identity feels cohesive, from the logo and colour palette to the typography and the mood reflected in their imagery. Everything works together to create one clear, recognisable feeling.

In a world where brands constantly try to add more, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simplify and stay true to who you are.

One „curse“ of being a brand designer is that you cannot not see colour 🙃 So whenever I scan the world around me, it’s almost like an invisible colour palette is showing up right next to everything I see and that’s how I often judge if something is aesthetically pleasing to me or not…

is now live 🥳 created a creative studio & retreat hub devoted to the magic of retreat life.

Over the past weeks we crafted a refined, editorial brand balanced with softness and emotion, pairing clean typography with more expressive elements and an organic logomark inspired by natural rhythms and transformation. The website brings it all together in a fun, interactive experience online.
