This of course throws up questions of what to do with our unwanted goods? Clearing out and decluttering can be good for the mind, and living minimally proves that we don’t need as much ‘stuff’. But the problem lies in encouraging people to throw perfectly useable items into the general rubbish, only for them to end up in landfill.

Now that Marie Kondo-ing can be added on our list of things that are already too much for 2019, it's time to start thinking what to do with all the clothes that to you do not sparkle joy anymore. Decluttering is good, if it's helping your mind and life and working, I am happy for you, but decluttering is not about throwing stuff, you should rather give them new life because, as Marie Kondo and our therapist taught us: what doesn't give you joy can give someone else instead.
