Dear Diary... I Broke up with a client today... Next time, I will choose a better partner.
Now, jokes aside, any business is like a romantic relationship in Marketing we have what we call the "avatar" the "Persona" your ideal client and, even tho I "hammer" it in my client's head that they need to know their persona I sometimes tend to forget and go in the relationship for a purely emotional standpoint in other words the money . I was thinking about this today after firing one of my Marketing agency clients.
The seduction phase starts when you are acquiring the client, in my case a business, we do what it's called a two steps marketing, where instead of selling in the first contact, we create the relationship first and then we ask his/her number and try to go on a date, after the date we try & make the offer to marry them.
Most business owners think
A Good client is a Client that Pays
Not knowing your ideal client is like going out and marring the first person you see in that day, it simply doesn't work.
So for any business, go back to the basics and create a persona, find a person who values you, your time and your business, and more than that would you marry that person? and the relationship will be much happier.
