”Women, 25–45, interested in lifestyle” is not an audience strategy.
Demographics can tell you who someone is.
They don’t necessarily tell you:
what they care about;
what problem they’re trying to solve;
what makes them hesitate;
what makes them choose;
what kind of message will actually matter to them.
A useful audience definition should help you make better creative decisions.
If it doesn’t change what you say, how you say it or where you say it, it probably isn’t specific enough.
No-Buzzword Marketing:
Know the person, not just the demographic.
