Some evenings leave a lasting impression — and the book launch of Sandra Gătejeanu-Gheorghe at Cărturești Verona was exactly that.
A career diplomat and Romanian Consul General in Barcelona, Sandra is also one of the most authoritative voices on Romania's royal heritage. Two remarkable volumes published by Curtea Veche Publishing were celebrated that evening: Crown and Nation. Romania's Monarchy Reimagined 1990–2025. A Diary — a beautifully crafted testimony to 35 years of Her Majesty Margareta's presence in Romanian public life — and the second edition of Eticheta Regală, a work that carries the grace and rigour of someone who spent over a decade as Director of Protocol of the Romanian Royal House.
The conversation was enriched by the presence of guest Constantin Opriș and skillfully guided by host Ovidiu Șimonca, making for an evening that was as intellectually stimulating as it was warm.
We were honoured to be part of this cultural moment — and to receive a dedicated autograph from the author herself is a privilege we will treasure. Sandra's work is more than literature; it is an act of cultural preservation, bringing the story of Romania's monarchy to readers in Romania and across the world with depth, elegance and devotion.
It was equally a pleasure to share the evening alongside members of the Board of ASEMER. Asociación de Empresas Españolas en Rumanía — the Association of Spanish Companies in Romania.
Congratulations, Sandra. Romania is fortunate to have voices like yours.
