Minimal Viable Entrepreneurship - owning an LLC is not enough
Entrepreneurship is often romanticized as the path to freedom and success, but it's important to remember that it's also a job that requires a specific set of skills and a certain mindset. Simply incorporating a business as an LLC does not make someone an entrepreneur.
In the startup world, I've noticed a trend among new entrepreneurs who are smart and driven but lack the necessary knowledge and understanding of key business concepts such as strategy, marketing, advertising, financials, and budgeting. These entrepreneurs often believe that their product alone is enough to achieve viral success, but this is not the case.
To truly be successful as an entrepreneur, it's necessary to have a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding in these areas. In fact, I think it's not a bad idea to consider the idea of a "license for entrepreneurship" that demonstrates a minimum level of knowledge and understanding necessary to embark on such an endeavor. Just as we require a license to drive a car or be a parent, it could be beneficial to have a similar requirement for becoming a business owner.
In conclusion, owning an LLC is not enough to be a successful entrepreneur. It takes a specific set of skills, mindset, and knowledge to truly succeed in this role. The idea of a "license for entrepreneurship" could be a useful way to ensure that aspiring business owners have the necessary knowledge and understanding to succeed in their endeavors.
