FAQ schema got fired.
For years, FAQ rich results were the SEO equivalent of adding extra legroom to your Google listing.
More space. More visibility. More “look at me” energy.
But Google has now dropped FAQ rich results from Search, and the message is pretty clear: structured data is not a shortcut to attention anymore. This does not mean FAQ content is useless. Far from it.
It means FAQs need to grow up.
Instead of treating them like a markup trick, businesses should use questions as content intelligence:
What do customers really ask before buying?
What objections stop them from converting?
What answers should be visible, clear and useful on the page?
What content can AI Overviews and answer engines actually understand?
The future is not “add schema and hope.”
The future is answer-ready content, clean structure, strong internal linking and pages that help both humans and AI understand what your business actually does.
