A single logo design is not enough, you need a logo suite.

Your logo is a quick way for people to recognise your business, but having a single version is asking it to do too much.

When you have a logo suite, you:
💚 Have custom versions for small spaces like social media profiles and favicons
💚 More detailed options with a slogan or badges for packaging
💚 Keep the brand recognition without visibility getting in the way

Brand fonts have three key jobs:
💚 be easy to read/accessible
💚 feel like your company
💚 create hierarchy (so it's easy for readers to undestand what to read first)

But fonts also need to be easy to integrate into your website, presentations and email signatures without creating a bunch of extra work.

The easiest way to go is to use free and well established options from Google fonts...but...that sometimes makes it hard to stand out.

Investing once in a unique and well crafted option from a foundry is more accessible than you think, and you only need to set things up once to feel on brand.

Samsas was started when Anna and John noticed that so many people in workplaces don't feel understood or valued. Their backgrounds in business and psychology mean they know the value of inclusion and the importance of creating a work environment where everyone can express themselves openly.

Have you heard of human centered design?

Often when trying to come up with new solutions, we sit down at the computer or start sketching ideas, but how do we know they will actually work? Especially when it comes to something as important as our branding?

The idea behind human centered design is that the solution should come from the society it touches. Instead of assuming what the problem looks like, we go out and ask people. We can join them in their everyday life, see how they solve the problem today and ask them what they would like to see instead.

Why is it important? If a solution does not really fit with real life, it will not be used. Then we have spent both time and resources creating something that is not needed.

Everyone can use human centered design. Before creating your visual identity, have a coffee with some of your customers to ask questions. Look at comments on social media to see what people value. Ask your existing audience, the opportunities are endless and it is all time well spent :)

It may feel a little unusual at first, but as a company we can have a big impact on people's lives - it makes sense to be able to help with problems that many struggle with.

Logos have to be super simple, right? 🧐

The sign of a great logo is that it creates that feeling you want your customers to associate with your business - in the case of Fox & Bear, that is a happy and playful one.

The key with more detailed logos like this one is to make sure the design still works in black and white and small formats. If your company name is quite long, try using an icon or monogram for your social media profile images and mobile version of your website 🌱

We are so excited to announce that we will be holding a Cohort Course at the end of April all about sustainable branding.
