Today the 🇪🇺 brings together education institutions from Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe in 🇨🇮 and online, in a combination of existing projects and potential 🆕 ones.

Stakeholders from both sides who manage or contribute to the programme will join and look at how it can support digital education ecosystems & better apply digital technology.

With increased funding for Sub-Saharan Africa, the region is becoming a priority for Erasmus+ cooperation.

We reached the goal set in the ! With the 2024 Erasmus+ call for , 14 new alliances were selected, bringing the total to 64 🤝 involving more than 560 universities from all over Europe. 💭

Breaking ⚡️🇪🇺

A political agreement on the next 2021-2027 has just been reached! 🙌

With a total budget of €2.4 billion, the new programme will continue to promote cultural and linguistic diversity and 🎶🎭🩰🖼️🎞️🎮🏛️ in Europe.

It will help artists, creators, cultural professionals and organisations cooperate and co-create across borders, reaching new audiences and addressing societal issues while boosting their skills and competences. A strengthened focus on the use of new technologies will allow the sector to remain competitive and up to speed with the green and digital transitions.

The next and final step is the legal approval of the overall EU budget 2021-2027.

How do we help protect jobs and workers affected by the coronavirus pandemic? With our solidarity instrument SURE.

In April, we proposed €100 billion in financial assistance under this tool to finance short-time work schemes. 7️⃣ months later, we are bringing overall financial support proposed under SURE to a total of €90.3 billion and covering 18 EU countries with today’s proposal to grant €2.5 billion in financial support to 🇮🇪 Ireland.

Once the Council of the European Union approves this proposal, the financial support will be provided in the form of loans granted on favourable terms.
