15 years of Word of Art.

They call it the crystal anniversary. That feels right, because stories, like crystal, need to be shaped and polished before they shine. Each project, each collaboration, each late-night brainstorm has added a new facet to who we are.

The result? A body of work that’s sharp, multifaceted, and still catching the light in new ways. None of it would be possible without the trust of our clients, the brilliance of our team, and the network of partners who keep challenging us to go further.

Here’s to the next chapter – more clarity, more sparkle, and more stories worth telling!

As we enter into the final hours of 2024, we reflect on a year defined by accomplishment and growth.

Throughout the year, we had the opportunity to tackle complex projects that required more than just time and effort – but real dedication. The result: compelling narratives that not only captivated but did their job, reaffirming the power of solid content. Along the way, we got to know many amazing people and organisations better.

Looking ahead to 2025, we're excited about what's ahead and how we can continue to push the boundaries of storytelling.

To everyone we had the opportunity to work with - our exceptional team, and valued clients and partners - thank you for all that you contributed to our year.

An early Happy New Year, and we can't wait to tell more great stories with you.

Yesterday, Word of Art marked 14 years. That’s a long time for a company with a terrible approach to market segmentation. Well-meaning friends have often quipped that what we’re missing is a low-cost “good enough” offering. Our big challenge is even if we tried to offer it, we would trip over ourselves trying to deliver it.

One of the reasons I have loved our journey so much is the shared commitment the entire team – and everyone who has been through our doors – has to excellence. Call it what you like, meticulous, fastidious, moderately OCD, but none of us knows how to settle for “good enough”. We like exceptional – and will put in the time and effort it demands.

It’s an attitude that has created opportunities to work with some of the biggest brands in Singapore and the world, doing the hard stuff, the fun stuff, the mind-bending stuff. We’ve helped shape narratives that resonate, and go into each day to tell stories with clarity, honesty, and passion. The success we’ve had is no fluke – at its core is the fact that we know it takes more than acting like a vendor to deliver exceptional work. We’re partners to our clients, collaborators that uncover and amplify voices, and who make sure that content does its job. And that takes more than mere “mediocrity”.

At 14, we’re ready to stretch even higher and push the boundaries of storytelling even further, while staying true to why we started Word of Art to begin with – to tell the stories that matter, tell them well, and make them worth your time.

It’s the only way we know how.

Happy 14th Anniversary to us, and to all our amazing clients and partners! Raising a glass to the many more amazing stories that are waiting to be told.

Give light and people will find the way.” – Ella Baker

To all clients, partners and colleagues celebrating Diwali, we hope the year ahead is filled with abundance, good fortune, and hope.

We know this has been a difficult year for many, and our wish for you is that light drives out the darkness, and heralds new beginnings.

Today, Word of Art celebrates 11 years. We've spent over a decade seeing how content has evolved and taken centrestage – and been a part of that story. This year, we’ve done some amazing storytelling about everything from Covid-19 to digitalisation, and it has been rewarding.

We also have a lot to look forward to: a new website around the corner, a growing base of content partnerships, and interesting formats and platforms we're playing with. We wouldn’t be here if not for our team, our clients and partners, and the network of amazing creatives that sustains us.

Thank you for being a part of our story. We look forward to doing even more great work with you.

, and why, even as "public writers", we are proud to still call ourselves journalists.

"Because the skills of journalists are widely valued, I have been asked to share writing tools with many non-journalism organizations...

Never once did a workshop participant ask me: How can I hide stuff from journalists? Or how can I say this without really saying it? Or how can I divert blame from our company?

No, they asked me the same questions that trusty journalists ask: How can I tell better stories? How can I make harder facts easier to read? How can I make important things sound interesting? Can I still use semicolons?"

Journalists who change professions are met with judgment and half-jokes about joining the Dark Side. How sad, how narrow, how counterproductive.

Robots that managed your life used to be the stuff of sci-fi movies, but thanks to technology powered by tiny but mighty semiconductor chips, they are a reality today.

Check out the big little world of chips that our team is exploring over the next few weeks - pretty cool stuff this.

And so, 10 years ago today, "the little word shop that could" came into being, based on the belief that there were great stories out there, and better ways to tell them.

Over the crazy journey that has been the last decade, our address has changed, some people have changed, and our products have evolved. But our purpose has remained the same - to put together and deliver great narratives.

To those who have made Word of Art a part of their lives and business strategies - our fantastic team (both past and present), contributors, clients, partner agencies, family, and friends - thank you for being a part of our story.

We look forward to making even more storytelling magic with you.

“If you chase anything in life chase the things that get you excited about living. Chase the things that give you hope, happiness, and a glimpse of a better life. Chase the things that make you want to be a better person. Chase the things that inspire you to think, create, and live joyfully. Chase the things that reinforce in your soul that you can make a difference. Chase the things that make you want to transform your heart from selfish to selfless. When you chase that kind of storm you are chasing rainbows.”
