9999, 24K, GOLD BAR - ARE THEY THE SAME?
🪙9999 - PURITY LEVEL
• 9999 gold has a purity of 99.99%.
• In the international market, it is usually expressed as 999.9, meaning 999.9% gold over 1,000 parts.
• This figure indicates the purity level of gold.
Important note: 9999 = 99.99% gold.
🪙24K - GOLD BY KARAT SYSTEM
• Karat is a system that represents the amount of gold.
• 24K is the highest level on the 24-part scale.
• In commercial practice, gold has a very high purity, such as 999 or 999.9, which is often classified as 24K.
Important note: 24K and 9999 have a close relationship, but they are not exactly the same symbol.
🪙 GOLD BAR - PRODUCT FORM
• Gold Bar is gold produced in the form of bars or pieces.
• “Gold Bar” does not automatically mean 9999 gold.
• Purity depends on the standards and specifications of each product.
For example: the Good Delivery gold bar standard of LBMA requires a minimum purity of 99.5%, while some other gold bars may achieve 99.99%.
Important note:
Gold Bar = form, not purity.
⚠️ A Gold Bar can simultaneously be 9999 gold and belong to the 24K group, but not all Gold Bars are 9999 gold.
