He’s not here to reward work that plays it safe. He’s here to champion the ideas that challenge conventions, provoke conversations, and remind us why creativity still matters.

For Shing, the bar is clear: “The video platforms don't need more work. The outdoor billboards don't need more work. The world doesn't need more work. What we do sorely need is work that makes everything else feel insufficient. If what you have makes you nervous to submit it, or better yet, if it would make us nervous, that's exactly what we need to see at the Crowbars."

Because in a world where anyone can make anything, only the bold will create something unforgettable.

If you’re a student ready to Kill Vanilla, this is your stage.

As Aaron puts it, “Stepping up as co-chair for Crowbar 2026 is incredibly exciting, mostly because I remember exactly what it feels like to be in the students' shoes. It’s about setting higher expectations, sure, but more importantly, it’s about giving young creatives (local and regional) the insight and confidence they need to navigate the industry. We’re here to help them level up and show exactly what they’re capable of.”

Defiers of destiny make the best jurors.
We are proud to introduce our Co-Chair for 2026, Lynn M Chong, Head of Marketing at Samsung Electronics Singapore. She'll be helping to identify the work that doesn't wait for favourable omens. It makes its own luck.

In Lynn’s words: “Defying Destiny is a reminder that the future isn’t something we simply inherit; it’s something we shape. The ideas that truly stand out are those that challenge convention, move people, create commercial impact, and redefine what's possible. I hope this year's Gong Awards celebrates the bold thinking that dares to change the trajectory of brands, businesses and culture.”

2nd Deadline rate ends on 21 August. Don’t miss it.

It takes one defier of destiny to recognise another.

We are proud to introduce our Co-Chair for 2026: Asheen Naidu, Group Executive Creative Director at Leo Singapore. He'll be helping to identify the work that refused to stay in the deck and made it out into the world.

As Ash would put it himself: "Right now, the hardest part of our industry isn't coming up with great ideas, it's getting them made. Most never see the light of day. The ones that do are the few that survive everything designed to stop them. Those aren't just good ideas. They're ideas that fought their way into existence. And we believe the least we can do is celebrate them."
