Leading a nation that’s at the cutting edge of global design among the world’s most advanced means one thing: bold ideas only. That’s exactly what DesignSingapore is bringing with its visionary 10-Year Design Masterplan 2035.

At Myth Studio, we jumped at the chance to contribute our creative and design thinking to this national movement—joining 500+ design thinkers, creators, innovators, policy makers, and leaders from all over Singapore. Together, we’re shaping how design will transform the next decade.

Through an inspiring design thinking workshop by School of X, an initiative by DesignSingaporeDesignSingapore, we used the Design Thinking process to dig into important topics like Technology, Healthcare, and the Built Environment. The ideas we came up with were open-ended and abstract—exactly what they should be at this stage. Starting these conversations about what’s possible is a critical step, and the real impact will unfold over time.

🌱In 2021, The Proposal for True Way Presbyterian Kindergarten in Queenstown, during the design process, we focus on early childhood development, particularly in an outdoor, hands-on environment.

We offer the opportunity for children to explore the outdoor space that runs parallel to the classrooms along the perimeter of the building. Here, we've created an activities area where kids can engage with their classmates.

The interior of the school is designed to maximize natural light within the classrooms. The corridors incorporate recessed niche spaces to break up the long linear layout and, simultaneously, to create a transition between the enclosed indoor and outdoor areas of the building.

🌱Collaboration with Playpoint was to create a play feature that allows student to learn by the nature. The challenge was to provide good play value in a small space. A natural theme playground, complete with a treehouse and interactive sound elements, offers children a myriad of benefits. Sliding and balancing elements allow the development of physical strength, coordination, and spatial awareness. Interactive sound panels engage children's senses, enhancing auditory perception and imagination.

Throwback
During 2022 in Sep

We have blast to take part in the "Speculative Design for a Sustainable Future" Conducted by Katja Forbes; Thought Leader in CX, UX and Top 50 Australian Professionals.

In the workshop, Katja walked us through some of the "Sustainability Future Trends" that will significantly impact humanity at scale, Topics such as
{ Park integrated into skyscrapers
{ tax on garbage
{ Insect robots replace bees and other insects
and more.

Speculative design isn't dreamy ideas.
Through trends and ideas, the speculators(designers) need to look at "worst case possible outcome" or "disastrous consequences" of the ideas, as well as create prototype for client experience. How fascinating that's sounds!

Looking forward to "mash-up" the topic we've learned to our future creative thinking idea and design work. "Learning never ends"

The workshop organised by Standard Chartered Bank CCIB Client Experience & Design Team (CX) and DesignSingapore Council at National Design Centre.

Nice bumping into friends in the same industry and make some new ones at FIND design fair Asia during 2022 in Sep at MBS, Sands.

So much to see and so fun to meet people after a “long unintended break”.
