First kettle and cups! Experimented on colours and trimmed a little extra on one of the cups.. but isn’t that how we learn? I love them regardless, with all the imperfections and extra curves ☕️🍶 💖

While other luxury brands are going san-serif, ZARA goes against the norm.

The fast fashion brand has seemingly forgone its spaced-out wordmark for one with overlapping characters and serifs, along with a flamboyant leg for its ‘R’. It’s the complete opposite of what other companies in the industry have been striving towards. Via design taxi

When most of the fashion logos are keeping it clean and san-serif, with being designed for different mediums that the logo appears on. Designed in mind the readability and are created to be legible whether resized for tiny mobile screens or stamped on handbags.

Zara’s resistance to conform might have just proven why the simple, sans-serif recipe works. When shrunk down, the new branding seems to read like, “Zaba.”

Designers have understandably mocked the overhaul, with some joking that it reflects the sizes of the retailer’s apparels and models.
“Needs to fit in size zero,” tweets lifestyles and design enthusiast jumabc.

Comment below of what you think about this new logo. Looking forward to having a discussion.

Rebranded: Mailchimp
Mailchimp has unveiled the results of its recent work with brand experience company Collins. The direction they’ve gone in? “Purposeful, playful surrealism."

What, then, does the redesign entail? Well, Mailchimp has a new official brand colour: cavendish yellow. That isn’t all.

Mailchimp’s mascot Freddie, the chimp (duh isn’t it great to finally put a name to a grinning face) has had a little visual update.

They’ve brought in a new brand typeface, Cooper Light, which uses the ever-popular Cooper Black as it’s starting point. On an additional typographical tip, Collins have replaced the “previous script logotype with a new, chunky, slightly off-kilter wordmark that’s designed to better connect with a more simplified Freddie.”

If that wasn’t enough, they’ve also introduced a new illustrative style that “personal expression over realistic accuracy,” a move which the company say sees them “nodding to Mailchimp’s support for businesses looking to build their brands by maintaining their unique voices in the world.”
The illustrations are weird, fun and interesting. Check them out to know what I’m talking about.

At some point mailchip is said to send some postcards to their loyal customers which we love! We love the way the company is heading and making a personal connect with its audience. Something that many leading companies should consider working on.
