Quick dash across the Causeway just for the heck of it.

We took the CWS bus into JB, hopped into a Grab, and headed straight to 雲吞面 Jiao Wo Wan Tan Mee for an early lunch. After that, we wandered around Taman Mount Austin and passed clinics, vehicle workshops, pet shops, hardware stores, and plenty of bakeries with tempting treats.

At Principle Cafe, we had salmon brioche with poached egg and a pistachio latte for tea. Later, we met Ethan and Charlotte at Slow Days Cafe, where they treated us to amazing matcha lattes, super gao hojicha, and matcha cakes. I accidentally spilled one drink, which was quite the sh*t moment.

After they left for karaoke, we took a Grab to Mid Valley Southkey for shopping and had dinner at Souper Tang, a nutritious herbal restaurant. We bought juicy meat baos, butter cake, and cheese bread home before taking a Grab back through the traffic jams.

A great and fruitful day across JB.

Visited Milipol TechX to support our client, Knovel Engineering.

The exhibition covered security, defence, surveillance, robotics, AI, sensors and detection systems.

Highlights included UAV detection, underwater security tools, first-aid training systems, gas detection, AI call centre solutions and AI assurance platforms.

AI featured across many booths, from monitoring and analytics to workflow automation and translation.

A useful visit and a good view of how security technology continues to develop.

These days, every post, video, email and PowerPoint slide sounds like they’re crafted go the same author. Which isn’t wrong considering how prevalent Ai generated content is. So how can we tap on the greatest invention since sliced bread without sounding like Mr Roboto? Watch my video for some tips. Let me know too if you have others to share here!

Social media has been a key part of my life, even though I’m hardly an . As a , I started out as a blogger, progressing to social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Pinterest, and now TikTok. Over the years, I expanded to run in my own boutique agency, trained over 7,200 learners, and am now planning for financial independence. How about you? What does social media mean to you?

What has 2025 been like for you? What do you hope to see in 2026?

For me, it can be categorised by 5 Ts: Transitions, Training, Technology, Travel, and Thankfulness.

Let’s first talk about transitions.

Hitting the CPF-age of 55 has made me more mindful of how we should plan our finances.

It triggered a review of how we allocate our funds across different buckets—from more immediate income-generating assets to long-term growth capital.

I’m also transitioning towards becoming a video content creator. Still a long way from becoming mainstream, but trying.

Training has certainly been a mainstay this year.

I’m glad to have equipped hundreds of learners to better navigate the world of social media.

(To date, I’ve conducted more than 400 workshops, and trained almost 7,300 learners since striking out.)

Special thanks to my training partners Equinet Academy, Civil Service College and SMU Academy.

Technology has also changed the game in 2025, particularly AI which has gone mainstream.

We’re mindful of what it can do (and what it can’t). This has informed our marketing strategies when working with clients.

Its fascinating to see how Meta is using AI to improve its core offerings, and to learn first hand from its APAC team.

Travel was naturally a big part of my 2025.

This year, we went on 4 trips altogether: 3 to China (Hunan, Yunnan, ChongQing) and 1 to the Balkans (Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro).

There were many memories and experiences packed into each of these.

Finally, I’m truly grateful to God for what 2025 has brought us.

There has been trials (of course), but through His strength and provision, we were able to overcome these.

While running a digital marketing agency and conducting training is challenging, I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world.

Wishing you a wonderful year ahead! May 2026 be a year of breakthroughs, bounties, and bonuses for you.

Meanwhile, here’s a video recap of our year. Sorry, its mostly leisure, with little snippets of work (and even politics) thrown inside!

Wonder how Chongqing is like at night? Here are some highlights of China’s cyberpunk city.

Dounan Flower Market in Kunming is Asia’s largest flower trading hub, and it feels like stepping into a living sea of colour. Tens of thousands of fresh blooms arrive before dawn — roses, lilies, chrysanthemums, tulips, and Yunnan’s famous camellias. Buyers crowd the aisles, selecting stems by the bundle, while workers sort, wrap, and box flowers bound for cities across China and beyond.

The air stays cool and fragrant, with screens flashing prices that change by the minute. Every corner shows the scale and rhythm of an industry that keeps Kunming blooming all year.

11/11/2025

Daguan Market in Kunming overflows with Yunnan’s best produce. Stalls brim with bundles of spring onions, garlic chives, Chinese celery, chillies, and every shade of leafy green from the plateau farms. Mushrooms are everywhere — porcini, morel, matsutake, and hundreds of wild varieties unique to the province.

Amid the vegetables, butchers work steadily behind rows of fresh pork and beef, while trays of fish and prawns sit quietly at the edges. Every corner hums with movement and scent — locals buying, sellers chatting, and baskets filling fast.

Afternoon to night in Dali Old Town felt like a feast for the senses.

We spent the afternoon wandering its stone lanes, tasting fresh figs, guava, rose biscuits, and chilled milk yogurt. The highlight was a café stop for Yunnan small bean coffee — bold, smooth, and perfect for the cool mountain air.

Dinner at Dream Hotel was a comforting bowl of guo qiao mixian, rich broth poured over tender noodles and fresh toppings.

Later, we returned to Foreigner Street, where the lights came on and music filled the air. We sampled fragrant mijiu infused with rose and jasmine, and finished the night with a scoop of hawthorn gelato — a sweet, tangy end to a perfect Dali evening.

09/11/2025

We spent the morning at Dali’s well-known S-curve along Erhai, a stretch loved by both visitors and locals. The winding road sat between the calm blue lake and the green slopes of Cangshan, with people stopping often to take photos or simply admire the view.

Our music convertible moved steadily through the bends as the onboard singer performed Na Xie Nian from You Are the Apple of My Eye. Her voice filled the car and lingered in the air — the perfect soundtrack to the scenery outside.

After the ride, we walked along the lakeside path where cafés, stalls, and small photo spots dotted the shore, and joined in a Bai dance that added a cheerful finish to the morning.
