Our team has been exploring AI tools lately — genuinely trying to understand where they help and where they fall short.

One team member ran an experiment. Created a fictional brand voice from scratch, fed it into the tools, and generated a full content batch.

The output was technically flawless. Right tone, right length, right keywords.

But when we sat with it, something was off. As she put it: "It sounds like a brand, but it doesn't feel like one."

That one line stuck with me.

AI can polish your brand's voice until it gleams — and in doing so, strip out everything that made it worth listening to.

If AI is writing your strategy, you don’t have a strategy. You have an average of everyone else’s.

Take something as familiar as a campaign brief. A client fills it out, sends it over, boxes ticked. AI can read it, summarise it, and even respond to it.

But it can't ask the right follow-up question. It can't sense when something feels off. It can't tell that what's written isn't quite what's meant.
