Even though it was a short internship, I learned so much. Compared to just being in university, this felt way more real (it actually is real), I got to take ownership of my work, be part of a proper system, and still be super creative.

The people here made everything better. Huge thanks to Shafik Basir (he got promoted while I was here, I might be bringing in good luck(but Zac left when I was here, so maybe not), and also to Dhini, ZK, Elaine, Matin, Yash, Uncle Pick, Andy for always looking out for me and being so professional yet so warm.

If you’re thinking about interning here, my advice is: get involved. Even when it gets hectic, the more you participate, the more you’ll learn. This is a great place to grow if you really dive in.
And Entic Tan at ARC Mall is great. So cheap, so good.
Big thanks to MAL and TBWA for giving me this awesome experience!

If I could describe my six months at TBWA\MAL in true BM fashion, it would be in the style of a campaign: Think Different. I never imagined I’d be managing campaigns for such an iconic brand, but I am incredibly grateful for the trust, growth and push so far that helped me, well, think differently.

A special thanks to my supervisor, Adriana, for guiding me with so much care, patience and unwavering support. I have only grown so much since my first day thanks to you. The values and knowledge you’ve instilled in me have helped shape the kind of BM I aspire to be - something I treasure deeply as I start out my career.

To Mel, Korbee, Trish, Nut, Rae: thank you for being a wonderful team to work alongside. It’s been a joy to learn from everyone and I genuinely appreciate all the fun, laughter and support along the way.
To the extended BM Loc team, thank you for always making the distance feel small, even as we’re connected through a screen.

To the entire MAL team - from BAs, Creatives, Producers, intern buddies and everyone whom I’ve had the chance to interact with - thank you. It’s been a pleasure learning from everyone and being surrounded by incredible talent. A big shoutout as well to Nicole for giving this unassuming uni gal a shot many months ago ahead of her final semester, and Axil for your continued support, I deeply appreciate it.

Thankfully, this isn’t the last chapter for me just yet…I’m ready to renew my subscription 😉

Much like my photo, my experience with MAL has made full and filled with joy, valuable lessons, and experiences that I’d cherish for a lifetime.

It all began at my interviews where my team asked me if I would be ready for the role that awaits me. There I was with years of being a creative but none as a suit. I replied: “No, but I’ll make myself ready.”. Lo and behold, the next month, I began my internship doing brand management and exploring a whole different ballgame to the advertising eco-system.

Was it a steep learning curve? Of course it was, but that’s exactly what pushes you to excel at a level you would’ve never extended to, otherwise. I’ve been very fortunate, learning from and shadowing the best at their craft and roles. At MAL, I witnessed some of the most brilliant minds at play and the hard work that’s put into every pitch, deck and campaign.

Throughout my internship, I was trained to be meticulous with the details, an active listener and an effective communicator (not just a messenger). There were opportunities for me to contribute in meetings, share my insights as a Gen Z native digital user, brainstorm ideas and overall be a part of a greater collective.

MAL is a place that once seemed out of my comfort zone but has now come to be much like a home to me. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my team at MAL, and to the wider network from production, creatives, etc., for being a part of my journey of self-discovery as a suit (or as we call a BM). From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing with me such warmth in our interactions and in the celebrations of every win within the agency.

For future MAL interns\bears, be ready for you to challenge everything you’ve ever known, and re-discover yourself in the most fulfilling way possible that’s sweet and satisfying.

Couldn’t have imagined a better first internship experience anywhere else.

These past 5 months have truly been the most enriching and fulfilling. I have learned more than I have ever did in Uni if I’m being honest. Thank you TBWA for giving me the opportunity to work with such amazing people and be involved in the clever work that we push out.

The biggest advantage I had was being able to contribute and be of help right from the start. While some would find it intimidating, I was extremely grateful to be trusted enough to be involved and actually do what I am here for. This whole internship has been way far beyond my expectations. Entering with 0 expectations, like a blank piece of paper, I found myself fond of the role and finding interest in the daily tasks as I see the bigger picture coming together.

One of the main reasons that made it hard to leave was being surrounded by the most wholesome, uplifting and lively group of people. Going to work did not feel pressuring nor overwhelming. Work was made a place of productivity, fun and warmth thanks to the best team (shoutout Augs, The Ling Team, SeeMoon, Ms. Danni V, Chee and Andy). Also big thanks to Park for the initial advice and believing in me!

To future interns, congratulations on opening this new door in your life. My advice is to be confident, take things with a grain of salt and actually care about what you do. Be curious and offer to help more, not just to fill up your plate but to learn more and understand better. I hope you enjoy your time as much as I did.

Will forever cherish this precious period. Sun’s out so this bun’s out☀️

As cliché as it sounds, these past few months at /TBWA have been eye-opening for me. Going into an advertising agency and taking on the role of a Project Management Intern for the first time has been an experience filled with both fun and stressful moments.

Juggling timelines, managing internal and external communications, briefing and debriefing, and handling billings were my every day but like they say – “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!” I’ve been challenged and pushed yet celebrated and supported as well~ All of which helped me grow so much more than I expected these past few months.

NGL, it wasn’t smooth sailing and I had a few hiccups and crash outs along the way, but I’m ever grateful for a supportive team that I know is always there to have my back. (A big big shoutout to my Digital Team – Reyhan, Rain, Aishah, Ash, Daniel, Cheyenne!) Yall are the true MVPs who made my experience 100000x better and much more fun~ Thanks for always checking in on me and for never failing to put a big smile on my face. We’re probably one of the most chaotic, noisy and dynamic bunch but that’s what makes working with you guys so enjoyable for me  I’m really going to miss our internal jokes and lunch sessions, as well as all the fun and laughter these past few months! Love yall so so much~

Another big thank you to the HR team (Park, Suzanne, Cristal, Jeremiah) for the impromptu lunch jios – felt like I became the hidden HR member HAHA. Thanks for always being really welcoming to me since the start of internship and for being the people I can talk about anything under the sun with. Really one of the chilliest bunch and I’m going to miss joking around and having lunches with yall!

Special shoutout to Dory! Thanks for your patience, guidance and for being someone I could rely on. Even during tough times, we push on!

Last but not least, to my Disruption Project team (Linh, Nadia, Shayanne, Sarah), yall are one of the most reliable and amazing bunch to work with! We’ve only worked together for a short 3 weeks but I’m so proud of what we have presented and am always glad to say our efforts paid off!

To future interns: If you’re looking for a place where you can be challenged and pushed, yet feel supported and appreciated for the work you do, /TBWA is the place for you~ There’s no guarantee that it’ll be easy, but at the end of the day, keep an open mind, learn and pick up as much as you can, get to know your team and colleagues, and trust me, you’ll enjoy your time here~

Advertising is crazy - but being part of the advertising world? Even crazier.

Entered the office as a blank book - no tabs, no scribbles, not even a dramatic prologue. But after a few “wait, how does this work?” moments and plenty of “hmm… how do I phrase this better?” the pages started filling up. Some are chaotic, some surprisingly decent, and a few? Definitely frame-worthy.

One of the coolest parts was watching the team bring ideas to life that were both smart and refreshing. It reminded me why I was drawn to marketing and advertising in the first place - because when it clicks, it’s fun, it tells a story, and it makes people feel something.

Thank you to everyone who shared your time, your brain cells, and your honest feedback. Whether it was helping me soften a sentence, frame a vision, or just letting me tag along to learn - I appreciate it all. I’m really glad I took a chance, and even more grateful that you took a chance on me.

So, if you’re thinking of interning here: come in as a blank book. Be curious. Be open. Take your time, make some mistakes, and enjoy the ride. You might just walk out a storytelling pirate, with a sharper sense of tone - and a folder full of .pptx to prove it.

A rollercoaster is how I would describe my experience here. A thrilling and challenging experience that I'm incredibly grateful for. It's undeniably shaped me, developing both my hard and soft skills. This incredible ride wouldn't have been the same without the support of my amazing mentor, Fung, and my fantastic teammates/tablemates, Jazz, Tricia, Joyce, Sheila, and Yvonne.

Their guidance and positive energy made even the most hectic times fun and memorable. Fung, in particular, has been a true blessing. Her ability to generate creative solutions to any challenge we faced is like having a powerhouse machine on our side. But even more importantly, she's a caring individual who truly looks out for those around her. I’ve learnt a lot from her and so much more to learn.

Just like how every exciting rollercoaster is, I would definitely ride it again to have that adrenaline rush and push to reach greater heights.

Interning at TBWA has been a wonderful experience, I got to meet many talented and creative individuals that come together as a collective to put out some of the most amazing work in the world. My role as a “Project Management Intern” in the Disruption Accelerator has allowed me to be put in the middle of Data Driven projects that help drive insights and deepen the output of our creatives. Seeing how numbers, charts and graphs turn into narratives and stories is just amazing.

Through the disruption project, I managed to have a hand at creating a pitch for a live brief, and that has been such a valuable learning and working experience for me.I would like to thank the Disruption Accelerator team for welcoming me with open arms and giving me a great internship experience. Thank you Mandy and Park for giving me a chance at joining the agency. Lastly, thank you Evelyn, for your guidance, mentorship and patience over the past 5 months. Its been a fruitful journey and a big period of change for the team but I know the future is bright and the work that the Disruption Accelerator puts out will only get even better.

For future interns, I urge you to learn from all the creative and amazing individuals in the agency. Crack their brains and learn how to think creatively and differently. You may be faced with challenges here, but these are just opportunities for you to grasp and showcase your stuff! Do also enjoy your time here as before you know it’ll be time to disembark this pirate ship.

The past 6 months has been nothing short of ordinary. In fact, I would say that my disruptive experience has been amazing!

Throughout my journey as a PM intern, I have learnt many things, from managing projects resource to project timeline and people management. I have also learnt that is is important for us to know a project inside out. While there are many things going on at once and sometimes it may be hard to follow, my supervisor (Vicki) is very patient and willing to teach me on how to prioritise certain task and also manage my own time effectively. Though sometimes, she can be direct, but her words mean well and it really helps in improving our areas of weakness.

I would like to thank my supervisors, Vicki, Ron, Xiwen and Tess for showing me the ropes and being patient with me. Your constant feedback helped me to become a better communicator and leader too. I would also like to thank the many people that I had the opportunity to work with, from Strategy, Creative to Production. This has been truly an experience that I will never forget.

Overall, my time here has been very enriching and I would recommend an internship here if you would like to build up your management skills as well as your resilience.

Interning at MAL is like having an exclusive VIP backstage pass to witness one of my favourite brands’ works come to life. Behind the makings of all the campaigns that we see on our everyday screens, it takes a whole crew of hungry, hardworking, and talented individuals to consistently come up with those great ideas.

Huge shout out to my desk buddies, aka the strat team - Crystal, Caila, and Ollie - for pointing out how a strong insight comes about. In fact, spoiler alert: a great insight often takes a lot more than just looking at numbers and TikTok, and it sure as hell required a lot more ‘whys’ and digging than I have expected.

Reflecting on my time at TBWA\MAL, I can confidently say that this internship has been an incredibly valuable and enriching experience. From day one, I was welcomed into a supportive and collaborative environment that fostered both personal and professional growth.

Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that challenged me and allowed me to apply and expand my skills.
I would like to give a shout-out to my colleagues and the entire MAL team for their support and collaboration. Working alongside such a talented and dedicated group of individuals has been inspiring.

The team culture at MAL, which emphasizes innovation and continuous learning, created a positive and motivating atmosphere that made my internship experience truly enjoyable.

To future interns, embrace the learning process and be open to adapting and growing. Enjoy the journey and make the most of your time at MAL – it’s a fantastic place to learn, grow, and have fun!

My six months at TBWA\Media Arts Lab have been a whirlwind of excitement and growth. If anyone had told me I'd be managing a campaign from start to finish for one of the world's leading tech brands just two months into my internship, I wouldn't have believed it. Huge thanks to Adriana, my lovely supervisor, for believing in me — pushing me out of my comfort zone, and giving me opportunities to grow.

A big shoutout to my amazing local BM team - Mel, Korbee, Tricia, Nut, Joey, and Gloricia. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms since day one — my internship was constantly filled with laughter (and the occasional side eye to Mel's random dances) — I couldn't have asked for a better team to learn from.

To Adriana, (you get a separate paragraph because you're that special to me): thank you for tolerating all my "sorry, can I ask how to..." and being so patient and supportive of me. The growth I've experienced over the past six months is all thanks to you.

Special mention to Jeanette and Huy, my fellow intern-mates and lunch kakis! I'll miss our "what's for lunch?" texts and endless yapping sessions during lunch time.

I'm so incredibly grateful to the entire team, including my BA's, Producers, and Creatives. I know now, that behind every MAL advertisement out there, is a huge team of incredibly talented, hardworking, and somewhat quirky individuals who I can only strive to be half of who they are one day.

I’ll definitely miss the office doggos, and yes, devouring the seaweed snacks whenever they're restocked (sorry, team). But more than anything, I'll miss the feeling of seeing a campaign go live, the thrill of getting an advertisement approved, and most importantly, my team.

It's been an honor and a privilege to be part of such a dynamic and talented group of people. I'll continue to stay Hungry & Curious (😉), and I look forward to meeting all of you again.

Till then, with lots of love,

Faith Wong, Account Management Intern, Media Arts Lab
