An update from us on the "/goto links" situation in Google SERPs:

Google recently began routing a growing share of search results through /goto redirects instead of direct URLs.

This change has caused a temporary inconsistency in our data. When you're processing the volume we do, these things take a moment to work through.

Our team is already working to restore the affected results.

We're also not short on options. Years of building our own web index and search engine (Yep.com), means we've got first-party data to lean on if this becomes a longer-term pattern.

What to expect in your reports:

--> Mention/citation counts increased for everyone after mid-July due to the bigger dataset

--> Responses for new prompts are still being collected, so numbers may keep growing over the coming weeks

--> Relative metrics (share of voice, competitor position) stay reliable throughout

--> ~5% of prompts are refreshed monthly to keep the pool current

Introducing 'Adaptive', a new traffic estimation model in Site Explorer.

Traffic estimates now account for 15 SERP features, including AI Overviews and featured snippets, as they reduce clicks for everyone else, but earn traffic for the sites ranking in them.

Traffic estimates are also re-adjusted monthly against Web Analytics data, accounting for SERP composition, volume changes, crawl frequency, and more.

Switch to 'Adaptive' in Site Explorer settings, or use traffic_mode=adaptive in the API, and compare it against the old model.
